Sam Allardyce, who knows a thing or two about saving teams from relegation, said the absolute first essential is to get as many points as possible from your early games to give you something of a cushion for when teams work you out a bit and the going gets tougher.
Last season under Paul Warne we got 14 points from the first 10 games and that was definitely a significant factor in helping to keep us up.
Personally I think the current group of players will struggle to get many points from the early games (who's going to supply the crosses, who's going to score the goals?) so I hope MT and the recruitment team are planning to get the squad sorted way before 1st September.
MM, it certainly is going to be a very close call. Like I said yesterday, IF we are focusing on Prem loans then we'll have to be patient until they return from pre season abroad. The danger of that is,
1. We won't be ready.
2. The team won't know the other players.
3. Will the loanees be fit enough?
4. Doesn't bare thinking about but, what if the intended targets don't come through?
Leeds have just spent 8 million on a player
We have relegation written over us because off the budget

I think point number 1 is the biggest concern Brin because we don't want to be playing catch up from the outset.
I don't normally get too concerned about recruitment but it does seem strange that we've let people like Washington and Kioso go without having cover or replacements.
Also the right side of the team is practically nonexistent now Chieo, Harding and Kioso have gone and Peltier is injured already!
