We're not allowed to mention long ball, tippy tappy got us promoted, so we'll just pay all due homage to that. In Luke we trust. Although I did spot a bit of direct football in the play offs. Shhhh!

Nice local one for me for a change, but that was a grim watch.

Lincoln won 7-0 here last week.Boston were awful and so were Notts.

Not looking forward to the Carabao Cup tie at ML.'could be embarrasing if Williams puts a weakend side out. Lincoln are streets ahead of Notts admittedly at a higher level.

Williams seemed happy with it but I don't know why against such piss poor opposition.

    The only way is up.

Even the crowd is taking the p1ss out of a certain player's propensity (9 times out of 10) to pass back. By the time the ball (after 30 passes) gets near the oposition box, the delivery is woeful, the opposition is comfortably in position to defend without sweat, and our CF has no space to work in, even if he got the ball early (some chance).

After all that huff and puff and monotonous possession from Notts, it was Boston who had one half chance. I don't recall Notts having anything to speak of.

Time to give good players their head and let them get on with it as they see fit.
Yes,can't argue with that.....and it was only HT !!!

If it’s any consolation, we only drew with Boston in preseason last year - and that season went pretty well.

Who knows what it all means - I see Stockport lost 4-0 at home to Huddersfield yesterday, but I’d still expect them to be vying for automatic promotion.

We haven't played what I would consider a first team yet to be honest. Has Palmer and Bostock played in the same 11 yet? I don't think they have and that would be you midfield pairing of choice for your first 11 surely?

They are purely for fitness and testing new ideas out, you cannot infer performance based on preseason results. Lincoln may have put a starting 11 out and Boston a bunch of trialists, we could have played a game after a morning training session like against Telford (I think it was).

We are doomed CBP. Let the moaners have their moment in the rain who feel that PSF somehow has relevance.
As you say, it’s merely a training exercise with absolutely nothing riding on it.

It means nothing till we get into our League & Cup fixtures. Nice, tidy little ground though!

The worry is that it's the same pattern whoever plays. From Forest to Boston the oppo keeper doesn't get tested. And as we carefully hand the prized vase from one to another countless times through 90 minutes in our first two thirds, one of us is liable at any moment to let the latest iphone slip out of the nike joggers onto the stone tiles.
