Whatever the lineup is, Middleton has to be dropped. As above, he's shown absolutely nothing so far.

There's only a couple of postulations up for grabs for me.

    Walton
    Grimshaw Graham Holt McMann
    Meekison Docherty Sibbald/Mochrie
    Kai/Cudjoe Moult Watt

I think with what we have at our disposal this is the best lineup we could go for, I'd say Kai starts ahead of Cudjoe and for the more dogged games where we need a fighter Sibbald ahead of Mochrie.

I think going forward the midfield will be Sibbald Docherty and 1 of Meekison/Mochrie/Glass

looking at the senior games (league+Cup) played its actually the Younger player who has played the most

    Mochrie (20) 84 Games
    Glass (23) 83 Games
    Meekison (21) 29 Games

Assuming it's 433 Fotheringham on the left has been streets ahead of Middleton on the right.
I can't see how anyone can make a case for starting Cudjoe though.

Also I'd like to see Denham a couple more times before writing him off as many seem to have done with less than 2 games under his belt.

I would also like to see Denham a bit more before we write him off. Chance perhaps to rest McMann, play Holt at left back with Denham and Graham at centre half. All about trying things now.

Midfield pleases me as there is genuine competition for places. Can make an argument for any of Sibbald, Docherty, Meekison, Mochrie or Glass. Healthy competition will hopefully drive standards up.

Front 3 does provide options now too. Watt and Moult both need game time for sharpness. Fotheringham, Middleton, ?Immi, Cudjoe all have something although Fotheringham for me has shown most so far. McLeod and Thomson maybe to get more time too to stake a claim.

I am unfortunately afflicted with indefatigable optimism. Would point out that I was horribly wrong last season on multiple fronts however......

    Yir well named...

Do agree with a lot of that though. Can we play Holt (not that ane) as a left back ? He doesn't look very fast to me, think he might get exposed against any nippy wee bugger.

I'm not the biggest fan of McMann, but... in these games he seems to be a wee bit fitter and bombing up that wing. Still dreams at times in the box I know.

Middleton ? Looks way off the pace, (if he has any) defo not gonna be skinning full backs any time soon.

Next games line-up will be interesting to say the least, should be honing/homing in on our best team.

Not sure how JG's feelings are on this competition, and if it is a testing time (and it is) bring on the real start to the season.

    My fingers are defo crossed.

I would start Denham again. We need answers on that. If he has a bad 45 send him out for another 45 and let's see.

Based on what we have, the side is starting to take shape

    Walton
    Grimshaw Denham Holt McMann
    Docherty Sibbald Meekison
    Watt Moult Fotheringham

I'd ask Watt to stay closer to Moult linking the 3 together. Preferably from a standing position.
