Not a Cricket buff (no doubt you may have already guessed that) but if rains during Wimbledon, they extend the the tournament into the following Monday. Seems a daft ruling to me to just award the match to whoever is in front after the 5 days is up!!
In the first test Australia needed 70 to win with 8 wickets down and the new ball could be taken which put England on top so if it rained in your opinion we would have won? But they didn’t lose another wicket and went on to win; my point is anything can happen quickly in cricket which has been proved in this test series so it is difficult sometimes to decide who actually is on top.

Aussies doing what Aussies are good at today, sitting in and waiting. Till the ball gets old, the bowlers get tired, Eng become frustrated etc. It illustrates the difference between the 2 sides. In this position we would "hit out and hope".

How is this working out for the Ozzies?

Whilst I agree with your point in general. It is still too early yet. Smith is still in. Whilst he is there the Ozzies always have hope. With rain still a factor they don’t need to win here. A draw wins them the series.

Another master stroke this test from the selectors picking Moeen again. You honestly shouldn’t need hindsight to know that was going to end in tears. Back into retirement for him.

They can always drag him back out in 2 years again for more average bowling, spending half the series injured and one decent innings.

Firstly, I was responding to Granthams post about how the Ozzies style seemed to be the dominant one. What today has shown is that both styles can be exposed.
Secondly, with regards to Ali, who would you have bought in? It’s easy to say such n such shouldn’t be playing. However, the queue of spinners capable of playing for England is extremely short.

Meh, even-stevens in the end weren't it? Took the Aussies almost twice as many overs to get a thimble-full more runs but they won't be too fussed about that, as it takes time out of a game they'd love to win or draw.
