    That’s interesting. I used to work at Rover in Solihull (Rover, Rover-Triumph, BL Cars, 1968 - 1976) and there were quite a few historic Rovers kept at the factory, including what was described as the first Land Rover. It was immaculately maintained and finished in pale green. There is, it seems, some discrepancy between that film and the vehicle that was owned by the Rover Company back then. Interesting!

    Hi. The one in the video was the Ist one to be sold to the public.

    Yes, I gathered that but the LR I remember was described to me as ‘Old No.1’. I would expect that the vehicle that I remember would be in the museum at Grayson; I will see if I can find out.

    Hi , my mate had a Mini Coopers s which was No5 off the production line.
    Did the pre production works cars have different number system ?
