I said from the outset I wasn't really bothered about going to the game and after 15 minutes I thought maybe even the Barbie movie would have been a better bet.
Let's not sugar coat it, we were absolutely dreadful in the first half. Hoofball was very much the order of the day and I dread to think what the comments on here would have been if Paul Warne had still been manager. I haven't seen anything yet to suggest the standard of play is going to be any better under MT and it still looks like he doesn't know what the best formation is to suit the players at his disposal.
The second half was played almost entirely in Morecambe's half but, apart from one header by Georgie which the keeper saved, I can't remember another clear cut chance.

What on earth is wrong with Morrison? His movement looks restricted and he runs as though his legs are tied together. He shouldn't be captain, the armband should have gone to Ollie.

One bright spot was the performance of McCart who looked comfortable on the ball and broke out of defence well but then I thought the same last season when he played well against Morecambe and things went downhill for him after that.

Early days yet and it was a makeshift team but it seems pretty clear that we definitely need some quality reinforcements in quickly or it's going to be a bloody long season.

Mellow you need to let the Paul Warne thing go. 😊
It’s time to move on. 👍🏻👍🏻

Mellow - don't forget the missed header a couple of yards out by McGukin which was easier to score than miss and which should have wrapped the game up at about 86 minutes.

I only mentioned it because some people sat near me last night kept saying "it's like watching a Paul Warne team!"
Just out of interest do you think the standard of football has improved because I'm struggling to see much difference?

That was a harder chance than it looked and I thought the ball went over the bar off the back of his neck 🙂

Just a tongue in cheek comment mellow.
Actually I agree with you last night wasn’t any better first half than what PW used to get criticised for.
I think the rest of the transfer window will tell us all about our intentions as a club.
MT looks just like PW used to when asked about potential transfers.
Personally I like MT and I hope he’s not going to be the scapegoat if signings don’t materialise.

Our standard of passing has been poor for long before Warne. Also reluctance to take a shot has been a long-running theme.

Did you miss the comments on Stoke away? If the players or the game is **** for whatever reason I’m sure it’ll get the same **** thrown that it did under Warney.

Wait til Saturday when it’s a league game, if it doesn’t go our way the abuse will start

I'd have McGuckin in front of Kelly & Kayode at least he got himself there for that chance. Quality cross as well for that from Blackett something Bramall couldn't manage all night.
