I agree with temporary visas. So we are in agreement a temporary visa to every illegal to pay for their free barge and lodgings? In the world of purchasing ( my background ) there's no such thing as a free lunch!

Decline the temporary visa then immediate deportation? You can't argue with that 123. I would also extend this principle of working to numerous lazy Brits being forced to take jobs or benefits get cut!

Why should someone work full time to live in prison like conditions? Treat these people with a bit of respect.

We should offer temporary visas for areas where we have job shortages such as fruit picking, drivers etc. and utilise any skills they may have. And in return they should have somewhere comfortable to live, they would be paying taxes into our system don't forget.

You talk about no such thing as a free lunch...the people who you should really be directing your anger at are not the people who come here with nothing, but the ones who have their cake and eat it in politics. The siphoning off of funds from some of these people with Tory links, in addition to the disaster that is Brexit, has cost this country far more than a few of these Asylum Seekers on a barge.

Seems to me your anger is misdirected, and has been deliberately manipulated by others.

I do think a countries rules and government actions should match the values of the majority of the country. The majority of the country don’t want illegal immigration. It’s a complicated topic that does IMO need a sledgehammer to crack a walnut.

That said Lee Anderson shows awful leadership qualities and his comments, as other posters say, is very disrespectful. I worry about how his actions could lead to significant unintended consequences.

Have you been to any rough tower blocks where some people are working in 2/3 jobs to survive? Probably not!

Still say the barge is more than adequate and 99% sure better than what they had in their land of war and persecution. That said, must have missed their fear of life and bombs in Albania. Perhaps you could enlighten me?

Instead of blaming 'illegals' for the people who can't afford to eat, you should blame our Govt. That is my whole entire point. You should be angry with them. Immigrants on that barge haven't contributed to people here starving, we've done that ourselves to our own people.

Your last sentence provides no logic, Why don't France ask if Germany isn't good enough. Why don't Germany ask if Hungary isn't good enough, why don't they stop in Greece? We take in far fewer refugees than France, Germany and most of western Europe. What more do you want? Why are you so obsessed with it?
