Good for me. Some of the announcements are not quite as clear/sharp as they could be though. That might be down to the man on the mic.

I love the new system, and the volume! They blast out some right classics pre-match.

I wonder if the new system could see us host some concerts?

Yes fair point. He sounds like a guy talking into a microphone rather than someone trained to 'announce'.

You're not having a conversation with the audience, you're announcing something to them. The common mistake is to talk too quickly. Listen to the best announcers, like Master of Ceremonies at boxing matches, and they speak very slowly, lengthening key words. Our PA announcer gabbles too fast.

Think Michael Buffer: Leeeets get reeaaaady to ruuumbleeeee!

I did notice in an interview the other day that Macca seems to have slowed his speech "delivery", down a tad? Anyone else notice, or is it just me? Bit of voice/speech coaching going on there?

In other news: Good idea or worst decision ever? Good idea for me.

Good idea. Even if the claim for the yellow card is legitimate, it's still the referee's decision to make, not the player's call. No proper professional footballer should be trying to get another booked or sent off, or rejoicing in it (witness Harry Smith).
