In some ways it is not the rules. They could send off players for breathing for me as long as what applies to Rufc also applies to the likes of MUFC. The most galling thing for me is the lack of consistency, Smodjics should have been sent off and more Blackburn payers booked on Saturday if it was right to send Fred off.

There is no way any ref would send a home player off in the same circumstances at Liverpool, Man C, Arsenal or the like. It just wouldnt happen. IF it did Linacre and the like would have an heart attack. Rotherham players are fair game to em. No one cares in the footy world if we are treaty like shyte.

Why doesn't Webb realise this when he comes out with his barmy ideas and closed shop mentality of refs.

Serious question, is the rule of running upto fans after a goal in the new rules?

Wednesday and Newcastle did it but no card, Man utd have just done it and no card, that’s just the three I’ve seen

See my above point mtop. Depends how big a club you are.

For me they have to retrospectively book all those players who have run to the fans over the weekend who havent been booked and give em a one match suspension if booked during the game-at least it wunt cost their teams any points for the matches they played in unlike our situation-OR rescind Freds booking and allow him to play saturday. Willl they though? Will they shyte,

Then they have to get rid of inconsistent refs like idiot man. Will they? Will they shyte...

Wonder if Howard Webb and Bob Madeley watched Man utd tonight and saw Varane's goal celebration.

Varane scores for Man Utd. Runs to the crowd, hugs fans along with his team mates, not a chance of the ref booking him cos it's Man Utd.

Agree with the OP. Webb needs to be brought to account. We go to football matches for entertainment from those fortunate 22 who have been blessed with the talent to give us pleasure as they ply their wares. We DO NOT go to watch the influence of an official of NO sporting ability but who has the capacity to ruin the spectacle.

We're going to end up with a bland, beige affair that has no appeal whatsoever to sports fans. The wrong people are deciding how the game should progress!! Come on Howard - man up and smell the roses

The only way change will happen is if the fans vote in large numbers with their feet and stay away from games in protest. The only issue with that is it will no doubt hurt us and smaller clubs financially, but I can't think of any other way of addressing the issue. It's all very well having two hours of passionate calls on Radio Sheffield (from fans of several clubs not just ours) but within a matter of days it will be forgotten about and nobody like Webb will hear it or even care. If managers speak out they can get fined if they go too far. There is so much built up frustration about this issue that can never be legitimately aired, but they try and tackle it by making the inept refs even more untouchable!

Howard webb should be ashamed of himself if he does nowt about this. The only teams likely to suffer from these new rules and lack of consistency that goes with them are the likes of Rotherham

I would seriously like to know what he thought of Madleys referreeing performance on Saturday and what he intended to do about it. IF he does nowt about it we can expect more injustices over the season.

J said to the mrs on Saturday the players should walk off the pitch.

I cant believe Webb as a so called millers fan has not at least seen a vid of the game. IF he hasnt he should be sent one with a note saying watch this idiot and see what you think of his performance.

RUFC should send in copies of other games where players were allowed to celebrate with fans to EFL and demand fairness on the crowd hug issue if nowt else. We are too chuffin soft if we dont the sh it will continue.
THe least they can do is rescind freds red card. Then get shut of the moron. That will do though we will never get those extra 2 points back we would have had.

Wolves will have similar reservations to Millers' fans after tonight. Anana cleans out two Wolves players from a cross and no review recommended from VAR. It's absolutely staggering! As cert a penalty as you are likely to see. I think we have to accept that we lowly clubs have no chance in challenging the authorities and we must remain cleaner than clean if we are to make it through this refereeing madness!!
