Aye Kennedy was a wee bittie better than Morris. But as a Full back. Last season , when Morris got his ten minutes a game , I actually thought " Oh hang on. Here's a proper winger "? Always wondered how other posters were so quick to slaughter him ....... But what do I know ? Morris needs to be taught more " winger stuff". Maybe starting with , get the ball in " the mixer" as early as possible ? He looks , this season so far , to have been educated at cutting inside to fool them. And I hat works. So keep it up loons !!!

If we can get Morris anywhere near the level of Hayes, we'll be doing ok.

Never been much of a player myself, but surely crossing can be improved with practice?
Have to say in no way was I meaning that Hayes was pish.

The trio of Hayes Rooney and McGinn were superb for us.

Hayes couldn’t cross the ball but he didn’t really need to with his pace and energy, just used to fire the ball into the box and Rooney would usually be in the right place for a tap in.

Morris has a long way to go before he is ever in the same level of Hayes but he seems to be improving.

Probably no more than a squad player once everyone is fit though.

Yeah because I was calling for Robsons head with the post I made eh? What a complete misreading of what I wrote, congrats to you!

I have no idea what the Huns team was that played yesterday, did they make any changes to their strongest starting lineup?

Did they go into yesterdays game having not won yet?

And if I can add that a fair few posters on here and on various other places agree with my assessment of our match on Friday, does that mean that we're all bed wetters and making things up etc?

Yes we're through but it was an unconvincing performance littered with individual & team errors against a team placed much lower than us in the league system. I put forward some points regards those performances which I thought was allowed on here, obviously it didn't toe the Abmad party line which is rainbows and sunshine regardless of how things actually were on the pitch.

    I know you weren't.

Hayes was a target for the boo boys in his first season though and didn't turn out too badly.

I don't think Morris is a wing back. Would like to see him on the wing in a 4-4-2.

Don't think that's happening anytime soon though.

I don't think there is a party line, just folk pointing out we are three games into a season with nothing like a settled starting 11.

We can all pish our pants together if bottom of the league in a few weeks. Pumped out the cup in the next round and are the UEFA cup group whipping boys.

3 games or 30 games makes no difference sadly when your next game could be the most important financially of the whole season. Our whole pre-season and these first 3 fixtures were in a large way preparation for these European fixtures and to say we're nowhere where we should be either as a squad or a first 11 isn't great by any stretch of the imagination.

We're still round pegs in square holes for some positions, not as bad as we have been in recent seasons but it shouldn't be that way so early in the season.

We were as bad in the 2nd half on Friday as we had been under our previous 2 managers and I don't think I'm out of line for saying that, a better team would've ripped us apart and scored for fun such was how badly our defence (left side especially) was. We had several players who were deserving of being subbed but weren't either because Robson has his favourites or he quite simply doesn't fancy the squad at his disposal. Again, so early in the season when the financial implications are massive isn't where we should be.

If anyone disagrees with these comments then I'm more than happy to engage with them but to say I'm looking for Robson to get bagged or I'm a bed wetter just shows that these individuals don't have the capacity for constructive conversation.

Yeah once again you're just not getting it are you? I've noticed since I've joined this site that you tend to do that.

You manage to distort what someone is referencing so that it fits into whatever conversation you're having in your own head, it's quite a skill and I'm sure its served you well over your numerous years you've been alive.

You like to hark back to bygone days so I'm certain its decades more than me, doesn't change anything but if it makes you feel smarter being able to cite a players first match then you carry on.

No, just that the narrow victory against Clydebank put us into the next round of the 1970 Scottish Cup.

Hopefully it turns out to be relevant.

Struggling again lower league opposition in cups is nothing new, in fact I would say it's what cup competitions should be all about.
