Some great words, but the questions were far more basic.
1. Did Aiden Baldwin come back from pre-season in poor physical condition?
2. If he did, should it be acceptable because he was fantastic against Boreham Wood and he's a really good defender at this level?
I'll give you my answers first:
1. I don't have a clue.
2. No, completely unacceptable.
How would you answer?
I've made it more than clear that this isn't an interesting subject and it's not one we should be wasting our time delving into. There's no point trying to make me the arbiter of what is acceptable or not, being as clueless as you are to any of the facts.
Aden Baldwin is a player who deserves more than his name being associated with negative stuff like this.
You must be missing Laddo very much, because you're clearly mistaking me for someone who will indulge you with pointless, egotistic and time-wasting arguments on NCM. I'm not, you'll have to get your fix from elsewhere.
I'm trying to avoid another laddo, but you appeared to be saying that you found it acceptable for AB to come back out of shape (if he did) because he was a really good player and pivotal to our promotion. I find that staggering and couldn't disagree more.
If I've got it wrong then put me right by all means, but I would appreciate an answer to question 2.
As a fan, I'm not all that interested in the measurement data of players after a well-earned break (and those last three words are the understatement of the year). And as I alluded to earlier, on balance I probably think LW would've been better keeping it in-house. Stop the press, shock, horror: 'Player comes back for off-season in less than perfect shape' yeah, like that's never happened...
There is a jeopardy though when an injury comes along which then takes away a player's opportunity to put things right.
It is impossible to answer the question with any authority because every measure is on a scale and LW is one who decides what is acceptable or unacceptable. I'm not particularly interested in that. Let him get on with it. I am interested in one of our very best players being on form, happy, settled and motivated.
Away from this pointless cul-de-sac of a subject, I would say that the players owe a lot to LW and vice-versa. LW would not have a promotion on his CV if it wasn't for Aden Baldwin. And we'd still be fans of a non-league club.
It definitely has happened, and maybe I'm still traumatised by the sight of Darren Caskey in a black and white striped Mr Blobby costume. But this particular "cul-de-sac" is about a basic principle rather than any individual players.
I find it inexcusable for any player (first on the team sheet or bench warmer) to come back out of shape. You seemed to disagree if that player was really good. Forget the player's name, forget laddo, just tell me whether you agree or disagree with the principle.
It happens and it’s not great and probably caused his injury. He spoke about Baldwin again last week about his focus which for me which made me think he’s speaking about him publicly to try and get him going maybe after trying to do it behind closed doors? he did it with TAR and that seemed to work.
I don’t like the fact he came back unfit but I’d be far more concerned if he kept that lifestyle throughout the season. I think he’s a great player, ultimately he’s going to be the one that suffers and not Notts if he isn’t disciplined, personally I imagine he’s not even that bad but clearly LW has very high standards.
It's a very dumb and transparent thing to do...''I'm giving you an ultimatum, playing well is good, 'agree or disagree?'
Being fit is good, c'mon, tell me 'agree or disagree' being unfit is bad 'agree or disagree?' you know, just in principle....''
And let's throw in World Peace while we're at it...
And do you even understand your own question, what's meant by 'acceptable'? Have the club cancelled a contract? transfer-listed anyone? Banished anyone to the youth team? None of those, so can we say that everything has been 'acceptable'?
A whole 6 weeks is devoted, and a physical team salaried, to take care of players' fitness, who run themselves into the ground for 10 months of the year and then take a rest. Who are you to throw around your 'inexcusables' and 'unacceptables'?
Everyone on here knows you're a very needy last-word merchant, so come on you, answer my question...playing well is good - one word AGREE or DISAGREE? (in principle).
