It's pretty much generally acknowledged that "Northern Soul" was the creation of young working class British white men who identified with Black generated music from the other side of the Atlantic. Work all week and dance your socks off on the Saturday "All-Nighter".

Going back to the Proms our mate Supersub6 said, "I should have mentioned that one of the really outstanding things about the whole night were the tremendous arrangements by Joe Duddell and Fiona Brice." It's now clear and obvious the "Northern Soul" musical genre had some real substance to it. Sadly Berry Gordy did not get a mention but he was a musical genius who inspired the "Motown Sound" of which I am a huge fan.
