All day mon ami, fire away.

You could also clear up one specific point while you're at it, should I have hated the best full-back I've ever seen in a Burnley shirt, Keith Newton ? He played over 200 games for us, but he played more for Blackburn.

While I agree with you Sinov, Keith Newton was a very good full back, but I think our best full back ever was John Angus.

I have always said John Angus and Keith Newton are the best ever pair of full backs we have had. I think I'm right in saying we got Keith from Everton not Blackburn?

You are right BT we did get Keith Newton from Everton, although he also played for Blackburn Rovers.
Keith was at Bleckburn from 1958 to 1969 making 306 appearences. from 1969 to 1972 he was at Everton making 47 appearences then on to Bunley from 1972 to 1978 making 209 appearences.

John Angus was solely at Burnley from 1955 to 1972 making 439 appearences.

I never said we got him from Blackburn, but he played more games for them than he did for us, should I have hated him ?

Opinions VC, I saw them both, I thought Newton was the better of the two, but not by much.

Not at all mon ami, Keith used to have a paper shop near to the Blackburn technical college I attended, he was a proper chap and what a football player he was.

So we should hate all Blackburn players, except those that were proper chaps and had also played for Burnley ?

Who mentioned hating Blackburn players? It's the Blackburn fans most Clarets supporters have an aversion too and the feeling is so well reciprocated Greater Lancashire Police feel the need to deploy about 2000 Bizzies, two bus loads of their finest nags with a helicopter flying overhead in matchday attendance. I loved Nathan Tella's response when we went three up at the Turf. We (mostly) all hate b@stards.

It’s not the players per se. A good, local rivalry provided it doesn’t descend into violence.

Hard not to hate Don Revie’s Leeds though. Now they were dirty b’s.
