At least the failings of Calmac and the SNP which are in the national news nearly every week whereas whether you have a bald head or not is only discussed on this board by Noahrab and yourself.
Golf is pointless in your opinion whilst hill waking is pointless in my opinion.

I recently went hillwalking from the bothy at Culra, my targets being the Munros Ben Alder (1148m) and Beinn Bheoill (1019m) via The Long Leachas. This walk requires an 16Km cycle in from Dalwhinnie, a 17Km walk with a total of 1021m ascent, a river crossing that is difficult at the best of times but when I was there the river was in spate and only just crossable after a long time trying various different crossing points, an overnight camp and a return 16Km cycle back out to Dalwhinnie.
The point? It keeps me fit, healthy and active and allows me to see parts of the country that most people would never see. On that walk I saw a pair of Golden Eagles, three remote lochs, incredible scenery, I summited two Munros and a saw family of wild Ptarmigan. I was also bit to buggery my midgies but you take the good with the bad I suppose.
Playing golf you see grass and sometimes a bit of a stream or a man made pond passing as a 'lake'. You take a stick and you whack a ball into a hole in some short grass. It doesn't keep you fit and healthy and, in fact, probably causes poor health through excessive stress. It is genuinely pointless.
I could very easily pick up a bag of sticks and whack a ball around, in fact I have done and found it very, very boring. Can you honestly say you'd be able to cycle 32Km, walk 17Km and ascend 1021m in a day and a half whilst getting eaten alive by midgies?
Currently Doon in Peebles playing golf, 2nd place after day 1 and won meh match yesterday 6&5......it was boring 😄😄😄
