Watt, Middleton, Freeman and Cudjoe (even with the goal) Were a total let down today and have been all season this far. The wee guy does one or two nice wee runs and even geting man of the match but actually doesnt contribute much.

Middleton should declare himself injured and go get lighter and a heart along with Mr Watt. Freeman just no idea. he needs something that the gaffer is paid to identify.

The big boy Grimshaw looks very like Gary Kenneth from the TV and makes the same brain farts, but hopefully he grows.

JG additions basically played and won the game.

Just when I was thinking DUTV was stepping up a level it loses the camera and wanders all over the place.
Damn good point about heart there. Their No23 spent a couple of minutes trying to tell the bench he was done. We go on a push forward down the left and this lad, even though he is now running like he is towing a caravan, manages to make up the 20 yard start our player had. Some on our team need to be learning from that!

Totally agree. The lad has had a brilliant start to the season and criticism of him is, quite frankly, baffling.

3 goals in 4 games but a complete let down all season. Deary me. 😂

This was a boy with only 3 starts to his name before the start of the season. He's had a great start to the season.

We really need to be tying him down on a longer contract. Whilst I still don't think he's 'Premiership ready', there's a fair chance he will be if we go up. All it's going to take is for his head to be turned by a bigger club in the coming weeks/months, and off he goes in January signing a pre-contract with someone. Let's not f*ck this one up, ffs.

Bit of strange game yesterday, I was quite impressed by Airdrie (yet if it was us we'd be slating ourselves for passing and going nowhere), but they didn't pose much of any threat, and yet when you concede that much possession and offer up nothing going forward as we did, it's not a comfortable watch, and there were warning signs building up to the goal line clearance. I actually thought Goodwin should have been more proactive, I'd have switched Cujoe and Watt. Cujoe was superb first 10 mins or so, but then seemed to get isolated, and when that happens he doesn't have the pace on his own to do it all. Watt might have made it stick a bit more, and Cujoe would have prob done more damage in the middle, Watt struggled again, tried tbf, but he struggled, summed up by the booking and free kick we conceded with his bad touch. Still not sure in my head where the root of yesterday second half was, defence being too deep, forwards not pressing en masse, missing sibbald and Docherty (thought Glass and Grimshaw did ok if not brilliant).

Some poor individual performances again, the attacking four didn't carry enough threat, Watt, Freeman (looks shot of confidence), Middleton (good touch for first goal aside). 3 more points on the board, prob good to have a week off with the diddy cup.

I watched middleton closely yesterday, There is times during the game he actually hides between defenders so he cant be given the ball. incredible.

Don't believe what their manager was slavering about. We had most possession in the match. Not by much but still...

More possession, more shots on, more shots off, more corners, more fans, more drums, more c*nts singing, more c*nts moaning. More all over.

We were poor in possession second half , giving ball away far to often , however , kept our shape so they couldn’t play through us which resulted in them having enough ball but not doing much with it . Key thing is this league is consistency, keep picking up points even when not at your best as the others will taking points of each other

It was a weird performance yesterday. First 15 minutes we were really good, pressing them at the back and forcing errors, regaining possession quickly, moving the ball quickly, stretching them, creating space, getting one goal and hitting the woodwork twice. The enforced break first half seemed to disrupt the rhythm and gradually, culminating in pretty well the whole of the second half, we stopped doing everything that had been giving the results. All of a sudden we made the Airdrie centre halves look like Baresi and Beckenbauer when previously we had made them look like the haddies they undoubtedly are. Let’s face it, it felt like an equaliser was in the post, not through any spectacular play, but particularly in this division, if you cede too much possession and just let teams lump it in the box, eventually something is going to drop, be it a mistake or a penalty or a deflection whatever. And this was the case when we dodged that one that was cleared off the line. I don’t think we could argue had they made it 1-1 at that point and we would have been under major pressure as it felt at that time that we’d lost control of the game by that point.

I think the Diddy Cup break has come at a good time. If there is one thing we’ve learnt even at this early stage is that Docherty is critical to what we’re trying to achieve and hopefully he’ll be back for Morton. Credit to the players for getting the result, but we’ll not get away with that every week if we try that again.
