O/T Air con units

Looking for a little help please, I am considering installing a couple of air con units at home. Has anyone got any experience of this and are there any installers that I should look at. Thanks

Hang loose awhile Hensons man, All fossil fuels are being phased out during the next few years and we will all be expected to be Net Zero Carbon Footprint. We have oil only in the village where I live and from 2026 new new oil boilers will be available for purchase, gas boilers to follow suite at a later date.
So if you are thinking about air conditioning you might consider heating and cooling options, though if you do ,you would have to have a split system with a evaporator in every room

As we speak I am pricing up air to water heat pumps , (heating only) . The Gov. are offering grants of up to £6000 but you have to fulfil quite a criteria of checks as to the thermal efficiency of your home as it stands

Edit This article goes some way to explaining the situation, although the bit about older gas boilers not having to be changed may alter as a consultation is being carried out in Parliament as we speak !

Thanks guys it's a relatively new property built by a quality buider that is very themal efficient. The issue is that the property retains heat so well that the bedroom is very warm in the summer making it difficult to sleep. So the plan is to install one unit in the bedroom initially and see how we go from there

Tbh I wouldn't recommend air con
A more cost efficient and viable 12 month solution would be mvhr with a built in comfort cooler.
For those who don't know the mvhr removes moist warm air from the rooms in the winter and replaces ot with fresh air from outside. It also has a built in heater to warm the air.
If you have a comfort cooler Inc, this takes fresh air from outside and chills it before distribution to the room.
They are a lot more efficient than AC and are self serviceable every 12 month with simple filter changes
