They only lower the temp by 5 or 6 degree from the outside temp. So if it's 30deg outside the room will only be 24-25 Deg. On a plus note they are way more efficient and the noise levels are about 25-35 decibels.
Airco get a lot lower temps but on a down side run at 45-50 decibels and you get blasts of cold air not a constant room temp.

It's all about air movement.
Mvhr are 0.8 -1.5 per hour.
Aircons 2-4 per hour
Cayton thanks for the response, we have a positive air ventilation system installed from new by the builders, this is great in the winter but not so good in the summer. As far as I cam tell it pulls fresh air into the hall way forces the stale air out. Very noticeable in the cooler months but not in the summer.
