Without sounding like I’m doing LW a disservice, I think the main admiration has to be with the owners.
They have built the foundations and set a blue print of how the club is to operate. This has given LW the chance to flourish.
Whatever your opinion of the last two managers, they played a style of football that the owners insist upon. LW has then taken that style and built on it (tremendously well).
If LW had come to our club at any other point in the last 20 years, I doubt he would have lasted 6 months.
He wouldn’t have had the right players, a patient owner, or fans that would back a complete unknown.
And when you consider how many clubs continue to run in that way, managers don’t really stand a chance.
So far, every piece of recruitment the club makes, is an upgrade on the predecessor. That’s pretty incredible really!
I would be absolutely gutted if LW was to leave, but I trust our owners to mean it would have limited negative impact.

Great post, LW had the opposite at Swindon, in his only full season at Swindon he saw them relegated and was sacked 1 year into a 5 year contract. What the stats don’t show was the calamity of when they brought Tim Sherwood in. I’m pretty sure at one point it was actually Sherwoods role to select the team and LW to just be on the touch line until one game Sherwood actually came down at half time when they were losing to a non league side, so all in all a bit of a sh1tshow there.

So on that he knows exactly what he has now and seems and says he’s extremely grateful and why wouldn’t he be? Our owners have a proper strategy, ambition and most importantly give support.
