I thought it was fine in the Kop on Saturday. The first week was too loud and they played music right up to the kick off. Now they've tweaked it I think it's a better volume and stopping it five or so minutes before kick off much better.
What to play is subjective, you'll never please everyone. The new announced I think is ok, the whole thing has an upbeat atmosphere to it.
Must admit I was one of those who said they needed to turn the volume down a bit, but I was wrong because Saturday was a bit too quiet and the system just didn't sound as good as before. Let's be loud and proud.
True, 90s Britpop over geriatric heavy metal for me any day.
Apparently the Kop won't be open against Derby sadly so that'll reduce the atmosphere at that game.
It was my first trip to Meadow Lane for a while and I had been telling my partner about the loud sound system and the singing in the Kop (she hates loud noise). We both thought the sound system was a bit quiet, and she thoroughly enjoyed the singing in the Kop. We have been to Maidstone, Southend, Dover and so on, so Meadow Lane was a step up in terms of volume and crowd size. She is converted well and truly which is lovely.
I thought that.
The song is 'County is the Team for Me' by Jimmy Willan, I believe. A classic!! You can hear it here...County's the Team for Me • Jimmy Willan, Peter Quilty (spotify.com)
That brings back memories, back in the late 70’s/early 80’s Radio Trent ran a competition for a Notts County Song, it ran every night for a week with people phoning in to cast votes. The final two songs were Jimmy’s ‘County’s the Team for me’ and my song aptly called ‘Super Notts’ (it started with the chant but then went into an original song’ - Jimmys won but it was great fun at the time. Wonder if anyone on here remembers the song contest.
