The JS stand was split for a similarly big game against Borehamwood. It would be nice for fans(especially those who managed to get a ticket for that game but won’t be able to for this) to get some sort of explanation as to why it couldn’t be split against Mansfield. My suspicion is that the police make that decision because it makes life easier for them, but I’m happy to be corrected.

BW were never going to bring more than 1000 so it could be segregated. Stags, Stockport, Wrexham will fill the JS , as did Grimsby so they have to be allocated the JS.

I went to the ticket office yesterday to buy for the Mansfield game and was told I could have 10. I got the 4 I needed, not exactly where I wanted to sit but not far away.

I agree BFP. If Notts fans find themselves unable to get a ticket and yet we are giving 3888 tickets to Stags fans when we probably are only obliged to give them 10% then I think a explanation might be necessary.
Large numbers of visiting fans will only help their team. Are Mansfield going to give us 25% of their seats for the return fixture?
Of course Notts might make those front 3 rows of the Kop available and everyone who wants one can do so.

In theory the club could still sell 20k.
I remember Alan Hardy on about the capacity of the ground for the play off Coventry match
I think he said it was all to do with safetycertificates, and Notts would have to jump through various hoops, but it would be possible to have the capacity over 20,000
Hardy concluded that unless basically we became a championship club, all the extra bother would not be worth it for the occasional few games where we might exceed the current 17.500 level

We only gave Boreham Wood about 2000.
The same could have been done here. I hope it is the Police advice/instruction and not a money thing. Letting Coventry have all that side didn’t help us did it? Nor against Grimsby in the playoffs a couple of seasons ago.

Maybe it's something we could do in the future. Give away supporters no more than the 10% we are obliged to give them and issue the rest, (minus any partition), as S/T's/POTD for home supporters. It's prob not needed ATMIT whilst we are only getting attn's of 10,000+.

P:S. Wonder how many S/T's we sold this season? Anyone know?

I’m not sure I follow. Mansfield, Borehamwood or Man United if we ever play them can only bring the number of fans Notts give them tickets for?

    Not true really.

If we restrict Boreham Woods ticket allocation then it's unlikely many would try to buy in the home end.

If we restrict Mansfield allocation then we'd get some plenty of them trying their luck in our end.

Demand is high for this one, but there are still a good 1,000+ tickets left, 24 hours after they went on sale. I think we'll just about sell out (people waiting til they get paid etc.) but I'm not sure how many more we'd sell if we took 2k off the Mansfield allocation in the JS and gave them to Notts fans (even if we were allowed). I think the club have got this one right.
