Hardy concluded that unless basically we became a championship club, all the extra bother would not be worth it for the occasional few games where we might exceed the current 17.500 level
Yes, the numbers in my post are all from the safety certificate (at least the most recent one I can find).

If we restrict Mansfield allocation then we'd get some plenty of them trying their luck in our end.
The club have put measures in place to stop away fans getting in the home ends. If they still manage to and they ‘out’ themselves then they’ll get kicked out, presumably like everywhere else.

    It’s a poor reason if that’s what’s happened.

It does seem strange that some Notts fans might not be able to go because we've given them so many tickets. I can only assume it's down to the issue of policing both sets of fans inside and outside the ground if we shared the Sirrel.

We're essentially giving them more or less a quarter of the ground in terms of seats on sale.

It's a bit generous to a club whose ground limits away supporters to about 20% of capacity, but I do think its important that clubs try to treat away fans generously - half the time our fans are on the receiving end. (I may eat my words for a future play-off game.)

Having an entire side of the ground is pretty damn generous and gives them a huge advantage compared to if they just had block Z of the Sirrel, for example. ML has been a fortress lately, but this is definitely playing in the opposition's hands.

They aren't getting the whole of the JS by any means, though. We're giving them 3,800 tickets to a stand that holds 5,775.

We should still have 13,900 seats minus what Sky steal.

ETA: If I read the safety certificate correctly, the theoretical away maximum if the Sirrel is segregated is about 3,300 - so we've not gone THAT much above.

So say 13,000 available for Notts fans? Will that be enough?

If there aren't 13,000 Notts fans down on Tuesday against Swindon then yes, that's enough

The seats for the most part that they are not using will be those sheeted off plus 1 block near the kop.
Without looking into the exact size of the pitch but assuming that it is about 100m x 50m.
Mansfield will have support along 100 metres of touchline and us just 200 metres.
Seems we are being very generous and maybe to our disadvantage.

Exactly. If you are are one of our wingbacks, for example, having an entire side of the pitch given to Mansfield fans is a completely different experience to if they were just tucked away in Block Z. It's bound to play into their hands.
