I think it's fair to say Watt working hard, for him. To what end though? He's giving us absolutely nothing this season.

I've seen him in 5 games in person and a couple on TV plus highlights and read what reporters are such as Alan temple say and the manager and other fans, I maintain if anyone thinks he isn't working hard then they are definitely not watching Utd and again I'm not a huge fan just don't like this target he has on him from some fans when he is part of a positive start to the season, in Goodwin' interview for the QP match he says that was Watt's best game of the season in Inverness when taking over from Moult and Temple said the same on the twa teams podcast, and the funsters on there say every time they see him he is a hard worker on the park
They may not be at their best but at this level they won't need to be to contribute be it from the start or off the bench

Middleton has been worse and continues to get an easy ride , Watt at least puts in a bit of effort working back when we don’t have the ball , Middleton hides as has been pointed out , takes up positions where he won’t get the ball , we do need more from both though
Just have
Seems to me a football mistake to equate not playing well with not trying. Law of averages one of them has to score or assist today, at least Middleton has a goal and an assist, actually i think he has shown a little more the last few matches. Watt should be in the next best position on the park after Moult to get both goals and assists, given we are the dominant team in most these games and level of opposition we are playing in both the cup and league this season, it's quite remarkable Watt has neither, even accounting for him being poor in front of goal, its probably harder to not have had a goal or an assist in that run. I think both of them are quite slow tbf, Middleton has a habit of being slow to react/on his heels, but I do think they are trying and will improve, not expecting either of them even at this level however to blow the league away, certainly neither should be getting preferential treatment, up to the youngsters to make themselves undroppable when they get the chances.
Ian....its not a competition to see what one out of the two is the 5hitiest or laziest as both are under performing against opposition that is no where near as good as last season.
When Watt signed I actually thought we were getting a really good player but he's done nothing, not a thing. He thinks a few fancy flicks and falling over and winning a few free kicks is joab done and for me he's wearing a jersey that someone else deserves more than him. I really do want him to prove me wrong but I honestly think he believes his own hype and thinks he's better than he really is with a 5hite attitude.....probably the reason he's had about 20 clubs to date....the new Kyle Lafferty.
I have said we need more from both , it’s the ability to hide that gets me going about Middleton as for Watt I agree , was hoping and thought we would have been better , do t think playing him as a ten suits him either , would rather him playing closer to Moult , hopefully they both prove us wrong as the season goes on , starting today
