My youngest grandson was flicking through a couple of my footy scrapbooks a couple of weeks ago, I played for Baxenden cubs when I was eight and finished playing when I was well into my 40's.

Team photos, medals, cup finals etc are all documented and recorded and he asked me how many games had I played in, I lost count at over a thousand.

It's a simple game is footy, "lost in transition", "beat the press" etc. FFS there's two sets of goalposts lets start putting the ball in the bloody onion bag more than the opposition can manage.

If I was coaching at Burnley, Amdouni would be having some serious late night detentions to work on his finishing, he is missing far too many sitters for my liking.

As for Cullen, I did not rate him in the Championship, he's drowning in the depth of the EPL pool.

You cannot be serious, every striker misses far more than they score, Haaland for instance missed more sitters in 45 minutes against Sheff U than Amdouni's missed all season. You only have to watch MOTD on a Saturday night, it's one long succession of missed sitters and 'should've done betters'.

I am being totally serious mon ami, Ray Pointer, Willie Irvine and Frank Casper would be burying the chances this kid is missing. He needs to step up to the plate. We need him wearing his shooting boots and quick.

Bollox, Frank Casper missed more sitters than I've had hot dinners, Amdouni is more than useful, the goals will come, it's just a matter of time.

I'm scratching my nut to think of Casper missing one sitter mon ami. The SKY group watching the games last night said Amdouni is quick and tricky but lacks composure in front of goal. Not often I agree with that lot.

I loved the look on their little faces when we went to the other end and scored the winner within a minute of the Hatters equaliser. Their little chins hit their desk tops in disappointment.

I wonder why no-one likes us?

I can even remember a Press conference when Jimmy Adamson was asked why Frank was having such difficulty putting good chances into the back of the net, he just shrugged his shoulders and said he didn't know.

Amdouni's record for Basel and Lsusanne, 24 goals in 52 starts suggests composure in front of goal is not a problem for him, and jumping to conclusions about strikers after a handful of games is not really wise, you of all people should be aware of that.

Don't know who the comms were on the stream but, while they conceded Burnley looked the better team, they could barely contain their excitement every time Luton had a spell where they were on top and looked like they might score.

I think you are right Sinkov. Amdouni has something special which will become apparent I believe, just a matter of time as you say

That’s ridiculous and as you’ve played like me for a long time and a decent level you should know that.

I’ve had this discussion before people on here and at the turf telling me Mcneil was rubbish and useless - they really have no idea as to how good you have to be to even play for Accrington Stanley never mind Burnley in the Premiership.

As for scoring more goals than opposition that’s bang on but if it was a s easy that we’d be up there competing at this level - we all know it’s not don’t we. ?

Cullen is a very very tidy footballer good brain and distribution and his positioning is also top draw - He would / will excel again when we sort the midfield out or our shape.

The thing is you can’t come on and tell everyone Pep is a genius tactician and then say it’s all codswallop the press and formations etc.

Brilliant managers change shapes - formations - press and personnel to get results even though it’s 11v11 in every game.

Pep didn't look a great tactician at Wolverhampton & Newcastle army88.

On a different topic altogether honestly thought I was probably the best right back playing in non league football Billy Big Bollox had nothing on me.

Then one Tuesday night I came face-to-face with a young left winger who was getting rave reviews. Our manager and captain said he won't beat you son, give him some early welly and quieten him down and then get on with your own game.

Long story short, I now sport two arseholes because Paul Mariner ripped me another new one.

In fairness within less than two years of totally destroying my self-belief he was playing for Ipswich Town and then England.
