What a match, absolutely loving the football on show at the moment.
Is this the first league match where we didn't have the majority of the possession?
What a game and what a performance. As many have said incredible tempo and intensity on display in that first half and we were very impressive. Just some overall thoughts, having read this thread.
No way Stone was at fault for their goal, you can't come for that type of cross.
Thought it was a penalty for them and would not have been surprised at all if given.
Swindon impressed in an attacking sense especially second half but only ever one deserved winner. Not surprised they score plenty.
Why did nobody tell us just how good Crowley is. Huge praise to the club for that piece of business. Morecambe's loss is definitely our gain.
Lots of good performances from front to back. As expected McGoldrick shows moments of pure class every week and gets better and better.
9000 home fans for a midweek game in October is hard to take in as a Notts fan of over 30 years. Justified reward and payback from the fanbase and local community to our ambitious professional owners.
Haha me too. I keep wondering how and when it will all unravel, but as long as our owners are at the helm and committed to our progression, the future looks bright.
Luke Williams is our biggest asset by far. He's transformed the club and delivered the best football I've ever seen from a Notts side. But the way we're set up, we should be able to continue moving forward even if he leaves.
LW alluded to the fact we should enjoy Macca while we can, and I suspect there will be bids in for him come January. He'd be a big loss, but I trust our owners and backroom staff to replace anyone.
This season, I think the biggest threat is injuries to key players. If Macca, Bostock, and Palmer were all sidelined for three months, we'd be pretty much screwed.
Does anyone have a link to Swindon's kick-off last night?
Possibly the worst kick-off I have ever seen at professional level.
I hadn’t appreciated that the ref was the one who had officiated Notts v Coventry 2nd leg play off. All I can say is that if he upset their fans last night with some curious decisions as much as he upset me then he is, at least, being consistent. I did wonder at the non penalty for Swindon in the first half, but the camera did not give a clear indication of what happened. However, pretty sure that the linesman had a good view of it and gave nothing so if his view was wrong, like the offside decisions which went against Notts playing Coventry, you could say that it was the his fellow officials’ decisions rather than Drysdale’s at fault.
Average number of goals scored in a tier 4 fixture....
2015/16 - 2.67
2016/17 - 2.65
2017/18 - 2.64
2018/19 - 2.55
2019/20 - 2.52
2020/21 - 2.36
2021/22 - 2.46
2022/23 - 2.34
tier 4 average this season is currently 3.05 goals per game
This is due to the change in added time rules presumably, but 2.34 to 3.05 is one hell of an increase.
