Jampie, I think you give Putin way to much credit for somehow controlling our thoughts. He certainly has had zero influence on my thoughts about Brexit and vaccines for example. It just seems to be the arrogant lefties way of convincing themselves that, people who have differing views to themselves are too thick to have these opinions without having been influenced by outside forces, namely Putin in your eyes.

There have been enough cases of people trying to prove Putin influenced Brexit, that have been laughed out of court.

The most successful thought control works at a subconscious level. No one is suggesting that you are directly influenced by Putin or Xi or even Modi.
Is it only arrogant lefties that think those not sharing their views are 'too thick'? I know a few conceited righties, many of whom appear regularly in / on the meeja who are just as guilty.

Banks did meet at the ambassador on several occasions. His court case didn't disprove that, and he did lie about it.

I think it's great that the Tories have the answers to all of our problems.

Sunak knows he can't keep doing more of the same because it hasn't worked, so he has to gamble. He doesn't know where to put his chips though, because wherever he puts them he will upset half of his own party because they are so divided.

This conference seems more like an application process to replace him.

The same can be said for Labour with Starmer. When he became leader he wanted to be Corbyn and now he wants to be Blair. Both parties are split but that will be more of an issue for Labour in the next election. Personally at the moment neither will be getting my vote.
