This is used in the CL and other european countries.. was used in the world cup and we can clearly see that it works better than what we use in the PL..
So why exactly did the Premier League reject it being used?
Only thing I can think of is for corruption and cheating purposes.. its a system that takes away quite a bit human error of drawing lines etc.. I think this Liverpool debacle will mean that this may be pushed more to be used in England.. I would welcome it
I prefer "(ock up before conspiracy". TBH listening to that commentary from the clowns at the Spurs v Liverpool VAR it's clear these people are clandestine evil genius types. More the "should be mopping the floors and cleaning the toilets dreaming of a job flipping burgers in McD's" types.
However as we all know, dumb folk generally over inflate their levels of intelligence. So these bongos definitely thought they knew better.
I've mentioned many times I live and work in Qatar for the last 8 yrs. I'm a broadcast engineer. My role at the world cup was supervisory. overseeing the tech set-up and making sure the systems were all working as part of a great team.
The off-side tech really impressed me. Fast, clear, accurate.
So when I heard the PGMOL rejected it. I was shocked for a 2nd, then just shook my head and laughed. " of course they don't want a system that strips more control and power from them"
Goal line technology works and, with this introduced, offsides would be sorted too. That would only leave handballs and penalty decisions to the clowns.
It would be a good step forward. I think they may be regretting not getting it now.
IMO any tech that takes decisions away from these incompetent idiots is a bonus. From not understanding the rules of the game to just not paying attention to the game - we’ve seen it all.
I don't want to believe conspiracy but there are times like this that makes me believe it to a degree.
Prem gets its money from its "big" names doing well that everybody knows - it wants to keep that, best way - control the decisions.
It's ok every so often a Leicester happening, keeps the brand exciting but you don't want that every year.
I mean. . . Newcastle in CL. . . nothing will happen, they'll be whipping boys - damage the brand![]()

Exactly, only VAR errors are worse. They have incidents slowed down-and they can replay them as much as they need-and technology that tells them exactly what the craic is yet they still make mistakes, and huge ones at that!
At least refs and their assistants have the excuse of only seeing it once and at full speed.
VAR is shit through a combination of incompetence, bias (conscious or sub-conscious) and corruption and I genuinely don't know where the balance lies;
I suspect-and hope-it's towards simple incompetence but I also don't doubt for a second that there are agendas at play and that there is an element of corruption in some of these decisions (including the 'overall' ones that decide, for example, that we won't use the semi-automated offside system.
Oh, aye, add in 'arrogance' to the list of why VAR is such a shitshow.
