We always seem to have a great result before an International break. This gives 2 weeks of restful optimism that then normally resumes with a lethargic and disjointed performance a fortnight later.Like Norwich,an anomaly of a result. Anomalies won't secure Championship status.Well done to MT for changing it so early because it solidified matters instantly and the desire was never in question.It may also have saved his job which I'am pleased about because I like him and I want him to succeed.There are 35 games left and if we soon find ourselves in a position where our injury list has a rolling count of 4 instead of 8 and through this we are to establish a more settled team selection and formation I believe there will end up being 3 teams worse than us come May. This,however,means we will be still miles away from the mid table consolidation ambition the club set out during the Summer.

Your list of managers who you wanted rid of is exactly mine except Norman Hunter is an addition in my case! You're right about MT. At times I have felt that he is a manager that is going to take us places and at his best I have thought ''at this rate we are going to be the next Luton''.He is good with the media,honest,forthright and not afraid to make tough decisions.He ''gets'' the club,the fans and the area.Then at other times I feel we are going backwards and chaos doesn't feel too far away.The first half yesterday was as painful as it gets.Games that end up 8-0 are not as one sided as that.I don't think we have ever had a manager who is so confusing! What do you think TS's thinking is? Will he stick with him if we go to League 1 like he did with Warne on 3 occasions or do you think he'll make a change if things don't improve in a fortnight? Was yesterday a possible stay of execution?

Well I'm glad I'm not the only one who doesn't always know what to make of him 🙂.
In terms of qualifications he's got everything required for the job and TS is on record as saying he's extremely hard working so hopefully the chairman will allow him time to develop his ideas.
I think the main reason Paul Warne kept his job after 3 relegations is that he had a long-term connection with the club as a player, fitness coach and then an initially reluctant manager.
Also the team's way of playing, although not always pretty, typified the hard running, high pressing, battling style expected of #Teams Like Rotherham.
MT doesn't have the luxury of that connection with the club so he's probably under more pressure to deliver particularly as TS appears to have invested quite heavily, by our standards, in the team and infrastructure.

We do still need an element of warneyism eg the in your face bit. We have missed that but obviously showed it after half time yday. We wont always win by that approach but will win a lot more than being passive.

A Man City style dubbing looked on the cards until MT's brilliant substitution very early in the game .
A mixture of dogged defending, outstanding goalkeeping and Saints running out of ideas kept us in it til Mr Hugils excellent strike.
Full credit to the many Saints fans I met who were very complimentary about our team and support.

For all those who think we get unfair treatment from officials.
Did we get a bit of luck with the goal? Kelly looked like he might have been offside from Hugill’s flick and although GK didn’t touch the ball his presence/movement made the defender head it back to Hugill.
Anyway. I’m glad it wasn’t given but another one for the conspiracy theorists.
