Yes, and I wonder what Swindon and FGR fans think about their first half performances?

We can't think of these L2 teams as statues with no punches to throw of their own. Of course they're going to assert themselves too. We'll win many halves this season and we'll lose quite a few as well

I read through the Swindon message board's match thread after the game, and most of them seemed to accept that we totally outclassed them in the first half and just sat back to see out the game in the second. Some quite complimentary comments actually

Swindon are clearly a decent side and they just came out second half with absolutely nothing to lose and played well, that’s it. We didn’t capitulate and had our own chances.
It’s unbelievable some of the negativity, actually almost comical, yes we have some deficiencies but we’ve gone from in the space of a couple of months people saying we might go down to knit picking when we’re sat top.
I’ve no doubt as we’ve heard for LW he isn’t happy with it all but there’s no magic wand to make it all perfect.

It didn’t really. They missed a load of good chances including one where the bloke had an easy header to make it 3-2. If he’d scored that it would have been panic stations. I think the stats said we got into their box once in the second half. We all know how the second half went against FGR, who are bottom of the table. Similarly we created one chance in the second half against Barrow, nearly an og, while up our end it was like the Alamo at times.

Obviously it’s fantastic that we’re too playing some great football but if people don’t think these things are worth talking about I don’t know why they’d bother logging on a Notts message board.

We probably wouldn't understand ourselves, but pro football is an incredibly competitive, cut throat world. As we go on this upwards journey, we know that not everyone is going to make it, Vinny and Ed Francis for example. Let's hope all of our current squad can, but all clubs try to improve their squads. Then it's down to competition for places. Ideally fans will be sensitive and remain appreciative as this process plays out.
That's a very touchy feely way of saying you think he's the weakest link in the back three and would like to see him replaced. To arrive at this conclusion you must, logically, have made some negative judgements about him (assuming you didn’t pick him out of a hat at random). So why go after other people for making negative judgements about players?

Elite thinks it's caring, I said unhinged. Well both things can be true
We really don't have relentless negativity.

Idiot is not a word I would use but if that's abuse then yes it is extremely mild.

Being top of the table is great and things are indeed going very well, and it's a great time to be a Notts fan, but it doesn't mean fans have to pretend to unsee things they can see. If we were bottom of the table would it be wrong to praise a player who had a good game in a defeat? No, of course not.

I'm afraid I don't agree with you at all here.

They could see 5 really positive pieces of play followed by a mistake and that last play would be all they want to talk about. This kind of atmosphere will actually contribute towards more mistakes!
Depends on the mistake I think. If it is a player trying some swashbuckling attacking play that doesn't come off then they'd probably be OK with it. If it's a banal unforced error they'd talk about it.

Yeah obviously it's the times when the ref doesn't buy it and the opposition just run away with the ball that is the issue here.

If anyone's got ifollow they can replay the game if they wish. So if you think a player like KC had a bad game, watch him from start to finish, see all the good stuff too and you'll probably see a performance that's pretty much in line with gaining an away point at a top ten team in a 1-1 draw. And just maybe most of the noise is down to posters who made up their minds before a ball was kicked.[/QUOTE]

Sounds to me like you're the one who has made your mind up before a ball has been kicked. You think we can kum-bay-ah our way to promotion if we just send enough good vibes to the players and gloss over any sloppy play. I disagree and thankfully so does our manager.

Who doesn't think it's worth talking about? It definitely is and should be, as should the first halves in two games we fully deserved to win.

My point being we blew them out of the water in the first 45 mins. Not many times will a side get anything from a match when they are 3-0 down at the halfway point.

I know they scored in the second half, and the easy free header was second half too. Can't recall which half the amazing double save from the Swindon keeper was , another if not that it matters.

I was lucky I was otherwise engaged not to see the Barrow second half , am I right in thinking we deserved to get nothing from this game. If so, that maybe the first time this season in the league.
