Even the image has the huge Clough dwarfing the dominative Notts manager, symbolising that Forest are bigger and better in every to the new supporter coming to watch Notts. Forest are bigger and better than Notts though. Who cares? If you want to support the biggest and best club in the city, you support Forest. It's been that way my entire life.

A mural isn't going to change what anyone thinks about Notts or Forest. I agree that it's odd that we have Forest's ultimate idol near our ground, and it certainly wouldn't happen the other way, but this sort of thing just solidifies the reasons Notts fans support Notts.

Very controversial opinion but to be honest I don't really like the mural.

Got to be honest and say that I think you are crediting reds fans with a bit too much intelligence and your conspiracy theory that the reds are taking over feels like McCarthyism!!

It’s a painting on a wall, not a slippery slope to the oblivion of Notts. Only one team can destroy Notts County, that’s Notts County, whatever effect the reds have had on Notts it pales into insignificance in comparison to the self inflicted wounds over the past decades.

Enjoy it for what it is. Some nice street art, not part of a propaganda machine infiltrating the minds of young Notts fans COYP

To my eyes, murals are barely a step up from graffiti and bring the tone of a place down. I associate them with Belfast and 'troubles'. The guy has done a fine job to be fair, it could have looked a lot more cartoon-like or amateurish. In light of what *was* being planned, it's something of a relief that it's as much to do with Notts as Fword. A lot of people who wouldn't have known who Sirrel was, or that we used to compete with them until relatively recently, will know now.

They had a mural on the side of an old building in Manchester of Ian Curtis (Joy Division) but somebody thought that was fair game to paint over with a rap artist, so I suppose there's a risk that it could be seen as a green light to some to add 'tags' or whatever. If that does happen they will need to remove it quick before it attracts more 'artists' and becomes a complete mess.

Nonsense. Yes it may originally have been conceived as a Forest tribute. However, it isn't and we can all enjoy it. For once the subject matter is conclusive, the best manager either club has ever had.

A bit OT but I've only just realised this afternoon that Notts Olympic have been revived after over 100 years missing in action, playing at Birchover Park, Beechdale/Wollaton area and wearing the red and black stripes they gave to AC Milan. We met them at Trent Bridge in the FA Cup in 1884 (when they were still in light blue and navy).
Don't think we have too much to worry about just yet though, they're currently five places lower than Wollaton Reserves in the Notts Senior League Division Two.

I see it as an affront, a pi*s take and a psyop. And has l said earlier, Forest fans wouldn't accept it and unfortunately, we have this now for the next 20 years.

Well, you will have to struggle with it every time you see it. Me, I like it. Hate Forest but can't dislike Clough. A great tribute to fantastic managers

Don't worry, I won't struggle with it. I just won't look at it.

The navy's a Notts and Forest pub, perfect just like the photo of Sirrel and Clough that's on the wall inside.
