O/T:- Palestine / Israel

I am trying my best to understand the history of this age old conflict, but the Palestinians/Hamas, do seem to be very argumentive when interviewed, and are caught out lying alot.
Rory Stewart gives a good account of the history between the two sides in a podcast on You Tube, with Alistair Campbell, who is amazingly reasoned in it.

In short, the Jews wanted (and got) their heritage homeland recognised as a state within the lands called Palestine. Muslims don't. Hamas exists to destroy Israel. Iran is happy to help and fund that aim, leaving the Palestinians as cannon fodder. Hamas is embedded in Gaza with underground tunnels* accessible from homes, schools, mosques and probably hospitals. Every arrangement that the UN has brokered, however favourable towards the Palestinians, has been rejected over the decades because Muslims want the Jewish state gone.

*Egypt flooded the tunnels their end to stop smuggling across the border.

Thousands of years of history seem to show that Jews will not find peace. Given that they don't force people to become Jews and seem quite happy to keep themselves to themselves except when it come to business I'm not too sure of the reasons, other than religious, for that.

Expect this to still be a talking point in 2000 yrs time.

Exactly this, no matter how much Isreal wants to destroy Hamas they will never achieve it. If anything this "war" could have the opposite outcome and encourage more into Hamas.

OP67 so the answer is to just sit back and let Hamas pick off the Jews, and then they will become rational people all of a sudden. You cannot appease these sort of people. Lots of Palestinians bring their kids up to hate the Jews, this certainly doesn't happen the other way round.

I think if their is any good to come out of this, it might make the indigenous people of this country, more aware of the danger lying within our capital city, for the moment, but it is spreading to other towns and cities. Muslim mayors, and Labour councils reliant on the muslim vote.

I think we have to get on top of this ‘demonstrating’ in London before it gets even further out of control, although it won’t happen some people need to be made examples of and the law changing for accountability ie face coverings etc banning.

He's actually a Jewish tour guide and is a Jew living in Israel, so how accurate or truthful the info is, Lord only knows. One question I would like answered but cannot seem to find an answer for is, why do so many different Countries, religions, hate the Jews so much? What did they ever do to anyone?

Worrying and frightening scenes at Dagestan airport in Russia with Islamists storming the terminal and planes looking for Jewish people, the escalation is frightening. The world has gone mad, anarchy mob rule, I fear for the future.

So your answer is randomly bomb Gaza until it's completely flat and all it's innocent citizens are dead? Which is what Isreal want to do and have said as much. Even that will not stop Hamas, it'll just rise up again. Isreal has already killed 1000's of innocent people including many children. I don't know what the answer is but I'm against both Hamas and Isreal killing innocent people as they're doing.
