That isn't the logic at all.
This isn't Israel vs Hamas. This is international law vs Hamas, using Israel as an example - but I could have used the Bundeswehr, or the British Army. All of these armies have clear rules of engagement that seek to actively avoid war crimes. It isn't just "could do but don't", it's "actively try not to". Again, sometimes there are failures, but that's separate to this point, which is the taking seriously of the rules of war - both to deliberately avoid war crimes and to investigate and punish them when they happen. International law requires that. October 7th proved Hamas has failed on both counts.
Is it impossible for you to discuss Hamas on its own terms?
I may well agree with a lot of what you say about Israel (though not this specific statement), but I cannot understand why you only want to talk about them. Even if you don't want to engage on October 7th, what about Hamas in general? Most Palestinians themselves don't like or want Hamas, and rightly so.
I would just give up Och, easier to knit fog than get andy to say Hamas are even slightly unpleasant.
Genuine question, can anyone tell me why we have Palestinians/Hamas supporters, who clearly hate this country, or at the very least have not got any interest in it, being able to protest, every day in great numbers at great cost. The vast majority of which do not have a clue about the history of the area they should be residing in, if they love it so much.
I think in answer to the second question, there are a number of Palestinians that will hate, or at very least have no respect or gratitude, for the lifestyle they are afforded in this country, as opposed to the the life they would lead under Hamas. There will also be some that do respect this country, that would not have marched at the weekend out of respect for Remembrance 'celebrations', I think.
Palestinians and Hamas are separate entities, but there again will be Palestinians who have been sucked in by either, the terror or the lies and propaganda of Hamas.
Awaits more nit picking, provocative questions, which will duly be ignored.
