Not even 50 years ago Leics. Think a lot of it only really kicked in post millennium. Time travellers from even the early 90s would be amazed at the cultural changes-no smoking even in pubs/ vaping/ the cost of a pint/ youngsters glued to games consoles, mobile phones and social media/ the rarity of paying by cash / the re branding of Christmas/ "cancel culture" and strange arguments over how many gender identities there are. Not many changes that seem for the better are there?

Out of interest how many of you attend Rememberence Day ceremonies? I used to pre Covid but haven't since. Might go if there's one near me this year.

Plus the NHS and public services going down the toilet. Banks shutting their branches everywhere. Having to provide numerous forms of i.d. to prove who you are whenever you get involved with solicitors, transferring your money or buying and selling any vehicles or property (the latter despite the fact you can arrive in a dinghy from across the channel without any i.d. and nobody gives a toss who you are, you'll be looked after far better than our ex military who are homeless and even be put up in far superior accommodation than many of our serving military have to endure).

Good for them. We shouldn't forget the sacrifices made by recent generations who ensured that forums like this one are written in English.

Me too, Ketts. Usually about 300 around the War Memorial. The day after the official wreath laying, 'mysteriously' an SAS wreath appears. Makes me smile and gives me a cuddle.

I'm in Weymouth via Southampton for the weekend. Been there before for Remembrance Sunday. The town has memorials to the ANZACS from WWI and the Yanks from WWII as well as the Cenotaph. Always a big turn out does it really well.

I saw the Danny Boyle Soldiers in the Sand in 2018 it was cleverly done and very poignant
