Football is all about opinions and reading some of the replies tonight I wonder if some posters read tomorrow what they have posted today and in the cold light day think well maybe ….
A bit like the BBC jumping to conclusions the other week in their Gaza reporting.
I thought it fair result today, could have won as could they. Thought it was a decent enough game, seen much worse.
I like some of our passages of play, some real quality and I think our player stock is a high as I have ever seen, been watching 50 years. Whether it’s good enough to keep us up is another thing.
My conclusion is the current intended style of play is more likely to keep us up than the style we have been used to watching. i.e players having to give 110% every week to stand a chance of getting anything out of a match. This cannot be kept up for a whole season.
I’m in the camp of I like what is trying to be achieved so the manager gets my full support.
    Get behind the team.
Great goal from Kelley today, super finish.

    Happy clapper me.

MT he's can't see past Morrison Cafu Fred. All 3 I can't see why. Kelly I know he scored but his all round game it's lacking. Wide right I'm struggling to see answer there McGuckin I'd try. Revan wide left. Central defence Odoffin Ayala or or Peltier against Ipswich.

How on earth, and not forgetting we're the home team, can any Manager want to play 1 up front on their own, who was totally bossed by two big lads in their back line? He, Taylor, is clearly showing he has no bottle for big games. I wonder what goes through Hugill's mind when he sees yet again, he'll be up front on his own?

I thought the first half was poor, dreadful, awful, and I'm keeping it polite. Second half, repeat up to about the hour mark. We slightly rallied but we were always looking vunerable until Ayala came on and further steadied the back line.

Never thought I'd say it so early having wanted Taylor to stay in charge but, I fear he's only taking us one way.
Remember what you said a few weeks ago to my post “we are doomed “ ?

Football is about fine margins we hit the Bar they hit the post either team could have won it.
I can’t help thinking that the voice to get rid it’s growing so no matter what happens it’s not good enough.
Today was a poor quality game bottom 3 sides you would expect that.
Our home support is embarrassing yes the players need to do better but our fans are shocking.
Clarity is gone now the fact we showed character today doesn’t matter the fact our confidence is low and we kept going doesn’t matter the fact he kept us up last year doesn’t matter the fact we’re not cut adrift doesn’t matter.
He’s not been here long so get rid and what then?
I’m interested to see who the ones who demand he goes think we can get in.
Warne got 3 relegations so what’s changed with our fan base?
Why after keeping us up and we can still stay up he needs to go. Dont tell me it’s the performances because we’ve had far worse under previous managers.

But we basically lumped it up to the Hugill and then the other strikers for most of the game? Broken up with very sparing moments of actual passing play.

All about opinions, as you say. But I feel like I watched a different game to you.

You shouldn't be gleeful about being punched in the gut once just because you're used to it twice. In reference to style. Neither are acceptable. I hope you get my analogy.

I decided to wait a while before posting so I didn't say something in the heat of the moment that I'd regret later

It wasn't the worst game or performance I've ever seen, it was just......meh. Certainly nowhere nearly good enough to keep us up.
One thing I couldn't understand is why people were fooled into thinking that line up was 4-3-3.
No matter how you try to spin it, it was 4-5-1 with an isolated striker battling against two solid central defenders, practically no width and no penetrating runs from midfield. It was chaotic, predictable and totally ineffective.

As others have said, things didn't improve until the substitutions were made and Georgie conjured up a superb finish.
I thought Nombe showed a bit more promise than he has done in previous substitute appearances and would probably benefit from more time on the pitch.

Overall I don't think we learned anything new but if Taylor persists with his stubborn tactics he will have no-one else to blame except himself if he gets shown the door.
