Us and Leeds must have had irrefutable evidence against them. Ignored or brushed aside at the time by the EPL which is deplorable

Seems we had to wait for the guilty verdict before we could proceed. Now we have them by the short and curlies don't we ? What could possibly go wrong ?

One thing I am curious about, if we sue them and win, who gets the money ? Burnley FC or ALK ? And to what use will the money be put ? It's not straightforward, there are several different holding companies involved in the ownership of the club, into which account would the money be paid ?

Everton are effectively skint and no prospective owner could possibly take this potential lawsuit on could they?

Apparently BT the judge initially said there was a case to answer for Burnley - Leeds and Leicester

He also said if Everton aren’t in a position to pay the prosecutions would force receivership and they would be deducted a further 9 points for that , who knows where this is going.

Interesting that the papers have it down as being our fault that this has happened to the Toffees I’d think it’s more about the heirachy at Everton that’s broken the rules that’s to blame not us.

However it should make the game at the turf coming up quite interesting 😂

Tbh I don’t like Everton suffering but if they broke the rules and at our expense I’d guess the other way around it would be exactly the same.

Reading between the lines it's either us or Leeds who will get the £100 million pay out, but not both.

Are you sure about that mon ami ? On 9th May, regarding the PL Commission investigating the Everton case, David Phillips KC stated that the Commission could 'award W51.5 compensation to one, or more, of the applicant clubs.'

Not sure just what the W51.5 refers to, but the 'one, or more, applicant clubs' is clear enough.

I don't think there is any lawsuit involved, having been found guilty, a Premier League Commision decides who is entitled to compo and how much. There will be lawyers representing the PL, Everton and the applicant clubs, Leeds, Forest, Southampton and Burnley. Nick De Marco KC, Sport Law Silk of the Year 2022, is batting for the applicant clubs.

I read that only ONE relegation could be compensated for, I think this one will run longer than the West Ends' Cats.

Not disputing what you read mon ami, my info was off the Premier League website regarding a Hearing of the PL Commission set up to investigate the case. It was dated May 9th, six months ago, but I couldn't find anything of a later date superceding it and David Phillips KC definitely stated that compo could be awarded to one or more clubs.

Does seem rather arbitrary that mon ami, where did you read that ? I'm no expert, no idea how these things work really, but it's the PL Commision that decides the compo as I understand it, it does not go to the courts.
