I'm not all against Richardson getting the job I think he was desperately unlucky to lose his job at Wigan plus he likes to play football on the ground like it should. However I would have preferred Nathan Jones or Rowett but Richardson is probably the next best candidate.

Perhaps the club would have worked better with someone with football knowledge on the board.

A few seasons back I mentioned John Ward a seasoned manager with experience, to mentor
a younger manager, being Paul Warne to show him the ropes.
John Ward now 72 years of age, so now perhaps just a armchair football interest.

Perhaps bringing someone in to mentor MT would've helped. We nicked him from Exeter so obviously he wasn't the the finished article. I still think sacking MT was a panic decision and we'll regret it.

It's going to be Richardson, without a doubt, fills the brief of having championship experience and is probably cheapest option.
I'll not be overly impressed by it but will support him, rather that than Ainsworth.

So the debate has slowed down, lets see if we can reignite it

Ok so let's look at our recruitment of a manager from logical way.
    Assumptions
    1. Not having a manager in place is not a good thing for the club.
    2. Giving the new manager as much time as possible with the squad before his first run of games is a good idea.
    3. The board would have had a contingency plan in place incase performances didn't improve and MT had to be removed.
    4. Any contingency plan would include a list of potential alternatives, I think they call it succession planning.

Now if our board are are on top of their game, and we hope they are, then those assumptions are pretty fair.
So please explain to me how what is happening at Rotherham fits in with those assumptions? Because if there is a contingency plan it seems to have ignored 1 and 2 and not done 4 until four or five days after MT left (only yesterday saying they had a list of 6). What I fear is that there is a hope Wayne Carlisle has some success and could be another cheap option in the same way PW was, because the view could be "although we were pathetically relegated that season we had success with PW after". As i recalll that decision was in November as well.

Now i read somewhere in an article the plan might be deliberate to not have a new manager in charge before the leeds game because we are favourites to lose and they don't want the new man to have that failure at the start. What? Firstly if that is true that is so defeatist, but for me if you wanted to protect the manager from that, announce the new manager the day before and say he takes over on Monday, but he will meet the players and staff before then and he will be at the game. That allows the fans to welcome him, yet focus the players and coaches for the game. The players are more likely to put a shift in to impress the new boss if he is watching them.

Overall I don't see how and why it has taken this long and we are still at a short-list of 6, it would be interesting to know that short-list to see how many were on our list it last monday

Totally agree with that point. The more it drags on the more this has got Rowett written all over it and he may well be on a well earned break with his family but, TS will have asked him to cut it a fortnight short. In the meantime Wayne Carlisle should be running things in the meantime.

Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink apparently moving up the betting ranks. I’m sure he’s been interviewed in a previous era and Tone said no chance
    Neil Lennon moving up too

Where’s the Cowley Brothers and Gary Bowyer. No mentioned this week

Contrary to rumour- the next manager has not already been decided. The interview is crucial according to a club insider.
