Derby don't believe the guff about interviews and application forms, we have been using someone to sound out managers to see who is interested since the Wednesday debacle. NW told them he was not interested the day after that game. The person TS had lined up changed his mind at the last minute.
So Jones has let it be known he is interested and we have spoken to him, If Jones wants the job and TS wants him in the Southampton problem will get solved but it may take time, have we got time thats the question. It's the usual compromise situation. From what Rob Staton is suggesting we are not prepared to wait.
So in that case it will be the next one in line, now if its Rowett then that's another problem as there is a suggestion that he is not allowed under the terms of his departure from Millwall to work whilst January. So where does it end, the point is its not easy to get someone in quickly.
I suspect and it's nothing other than a hunch we will end up with Leam Richardson unless, Jones or Rowett can sort out their contracts quickly
Absolute shambles.
One would assume if Leam Richardson was the 'outstanding candidate' and the guy TS had always wanted, then he would have been appointed by now. So even if he does end up landing the job, your post will still be more or less the top and bottom of the situation. I agree about the BS we here in the press about the poor old postman not being able to carry the bundles of CVs to the letterbox and candidates being sat in a waiting room when the receptionist says,''Lord Stewart will see you now''! Utter tripe.
Soton might still be seething after our smash and grab point so they might not be cooperative
On a serious note As someone has alluded to surely the LMA / PFA etc will step in and tell everyone to sort it out
Can’t curtail someones career
That makes sense, why would Southampton want to make his life hard and stop him movng on, who benefits from that situation? The only reason i can see is to offset the money they owe him, but if it is purely money, deals can be reached by the 3 parties concerned afterall TS is a successful businessman and does deals everyday. Also if he is on garden leave that means he is still officially an employee of Southampton, which means like every other employed person he can resign his post and once any notice is served there is no hold on him. Now he could have a long notice period, but being he is on garden leave no court would side with Southampton to stop him taking new employment immediately he resigns, because they are not letting him fulfill his contractual role, Southampton will know that, they also know that if they did pursue it in court the media would have a field day with them and the reputational damage isn't worth the hassle, so as i say who benefits?. The one person that can solve this immediately is Nathan Jones, if he really wants the job, then he can take it, the consequence is he would lose some of the payoff from Southampton, so it is always a money decision by the individual and everything is nothing but noise.
HPRM,you speak as if what you say are facts,if so,how do you know such things ?
