The stats also tell you that we have conceded 36 goals and that is more than most of the other teams in the Division,,

That was what I was saying.

I was 'agreeing with you', maybe you're not used to that and missed it

I'm more than happy that we are doing well in the league, but with a little more hindsight from the recruiting team we could and should be at the top of this division.

I have seen nothing from any of those teams we have played this season to suggest why we shouldn't win this league...
I had the same argument last season. People seemed (deliberately) to miss the point that the goals we gave away, of our own volition, quite probably stopped us being champions. Position, defensive record, goals score and all the rest of the trite stats do not get away from the clangers we dropped (and continue to drop). Does it matter taking our current position into account? Damn right it does.

Top class defenders cost money as do too class forwards which we have signed, we sign them too and we have a top 3 budget, the only challenge being we don’t have a top 3 budget to spend.

Yes but hopefully this is a two step improvement. The budget was used to secure the quality up front that we have, step two in January? Fingers crossed.

I think they will go above the initial budget set in the summer. RM said additional investment lay with % chance of promotion. These guys know what they're doing, hardest thing in football is scoring goals as it takes real quality and I think that’s why they focussed there. I do think they were after another defender in the summer but couldn’t find the right one and then went to plan B with loans.

We had the chance of signing the big guy who went on to sign for Mansfield..

    Flint? Why didn’t we?

Ok how about the hypothetical, we sign Flint but as a result don't sign Crowley.

    Deal or no deal?

The best barometer of how any team is doing is the league table. We are doing noticeably better than 18 other teams so far.

He was a free agent and was offered to the club, but we chose not to take the offer up...
