Yeah but in those days everyone played 442.

We do have good players for this level who fit the system and that is why im a fan of our model we buy players who (There will always be the odd dud that happens to everyone)

We'd have to go 433 as you need a 3 man midfield now and the issue is McGoldrick/Crowley dont fit a 433 imo as Langstaff is always going to play if fit.

    Correct.

As I’ve said in the other thread, a back four works fine for some of the best teams of all time and even in the current era. Nothing wrong with a back four if you have the personnel…which we do.

    I’d like to see this.

    ……………….Slocombe/ Stone (doesn’t matter!)

    Brindley………Baldwin…….Cameron…….Chick s

    ……………..Gosling/OB…..Bostock

    …………Jones………..Didzy………Crowley

    …………………………Macca

I bet teams still defended better than what Notts do.

I've been reading for a long time now that most of the possession we have is normally in our half, and we pass backwards lots and sideways more and during that period we have a tendency to score lots of lots of goals, including this season commonly in the opponents box. Amazing stuff.

Was there a paragraph that said that there are three other teams that have also scored lots and lots of goals, but haven't lost six games and have not conceded as many? There are a couple of teams that have the same GA as us but you need to go to 21st for anyone worse.

No not mentioned, obviously last season it was not applicable, so not surprise. All this passing about at the back yet score so many up front. Amazing.

GA is without doubt important, I'd say about as important as GF. You want more of the latter than the former Naturally L are to be avoided where possible but far more important than all of the above are the W and PTS.

Quick look at the current league table and it's just 1 side with more Ws and only 3 sides with more PTS.

All of the above equates to 6th out of 24.
