    Like people on here.

These quality managers are millionaires and will get better offers.

Probably jones agent leaked it to the press to drum up interest about his client.
I don't disagree with you, but is it so bad to dream big and try to believe that we can achieve a longer run in the championship?
Good point about these managers being millionaires, but doesn't that make their management choices less about money and more about the challenge? I am sticking to my belief that people that back away from the Rotherham job is about their fear of failure, and says more about their character than it does our club. We are a good club, we have a lot going for us and to be proud of, it is better to talk ourselves up than down. That is not directed at you, it is a general comment.

There is no guarantee that Jones will succeed again as a manager. He has been a flop in his last few jobs. This could be serendipitous for Tony. He has been left up the garden path twice in recent days by less than transparent candidates. He deserves a bit of good fortune

Indeed and I’m not sure his methods are what Swansea want. YP are reporting they are also considering Tottenham,s no 2 which might be a better fit.
Apparently Swansea and their fans are seriously regretting the Duff appointment as they wanted to continue to play the passing game that Martin and his predecessors employed.
I’m not sure NJ favours that style of play

One of my friends is a Swans fan so I get to hear a little bit about what’s going on down there

The Club is built to fail in the championship.

    Just purely by funding.

These kind off managers can get better money and better jobs off getting promotion to the premiership.

Our last manager came from division 2.

Paul Warne was a fitness coach.

Now Steve Evans is in the running.

Realistically in my eyes it's a ambitious lower league level manager who would take us on ie matt taylor.

Yes they live off there reputation as a manager and its hard earned.

It's like the heavyweight boxing division.

Most off them avoid each other

Maybe TS is beginning to understand how our managers feel when they end up with their 4th and 5th choice players!

Good point,MT was unhappy that his main targets were not signed and had to go down the pecking order. He also brought to TS's attention the need to tie players down with better contracts and not to suffer, like we did with Ogbene going for nothing.

He sounded out Neil after the swfc debacle and he said no. So sensibly MT was kept on a while longer. It then got worse on the pitch

Wilder got sounded out and said yes. MT gets the push, SUFC get wind of it and advise him to sit tight so he turns us down late in the day.
We then move onto NJ and it’s all over the press and another club does the same so he says no. Perhaps it might have been better not to post pictures and narrative saying he was at St Andrews. To be fair to NJ he did try to attend incognito

Also TS hasn’t, so far, gone for the low quality option of Richardson or Robinson thereby trying to get the best quality candidate we can

Some people keep ridiculing the ‘we’ve had some quality applications’ statement.
I would put both Wilder and Jones in those categories and I’m sure most fans would have been happy with either. TS was very close to snaring both and he’s had the rug pulled at the last minute
Yes that may well be the case and certainly that course of events has been suggested by a few people who claim to be in the know.
If that really is WHAT happened then surely a more pressing question is WHY it happened and that ought to be uppermost in TS's mind because he put the club in this unenviable position in the first place.
If it's about money then most of the names being mentioned weren't realistic in any case and if it's about the personal ambition of the candidates then the same applies.
Talk about a self-imposed rock and hard place.
