What is TS advertising for, a football manager or a social worker?

I was once in a business meeting here in the US regarding a project that was going particularly badly. After listening to people talk/squabble for a while, the 'big boss' simply stood up and said "You lot look like a bunch of monkeys trying to f%&k a football". I never really got the analogy but I think it might apply to what's happening at RUFC

I fully understand that way of thinking, but what are we going to do if we win too many games in L1 and threaten to win promotion to the Championship? Do we then 'throw games' in order to stay rooted in L1 for ever? Where's the sport in that. Why would we want to win 3 points if it meant we.stood a chance of promotion?

I think the club has some big decisions to make sooner rather than later. We are a financially well run club with a super stadium but we are obviously grossly underfunded for the modern game. We can't hold on to our better players and more often don't make the big money as most clubs do when we sell them on. We can't attract ' high calibre ' managers and seem to have a administration that at times appears amateurish in it's functions. And Rotherham town ain't a particularly attractive proposition either.

We have moved on a good deal since TS took over, but on the field of play we are no further on than when the Booths were in charge. Someone needs to make some radical decisions.
    Totally agree with this.

    Functionally we are no better.

Difference is we rent a nicer house.

We actually made a better fist of staying up in the RM years. In fact that squad would wipe the floor with anything we've had under TS.

Mark Robins made more appearances, scored more goals and played longer for us than Man Utd. Not a lot realise that!

I don't think we can't attract good enough players at this level to keep us away from relegation fodder - our recruitment, contract management or asset management has been disgraceful and that's why we can't compete.

We dont need championship world beaters just young steady 7 out of 10 Joe Skarz that bigger clubs see opportunity in. Is it really that hard? For us yes.

Don't get me started on MT. He ripped out everything that had a PW stench about it that actually gives us the best chance of competing. I don't care what anyone says. He deserved to be sacked and in an ideal world would have been done in May!

Despite us playing on the Millmoor slope, the playing field was much leveler back in those days before the beast that is parachute payments were introduced. 11 of the teams we are competing against this season have benefitted from parachute payments in the last 7 years with 9 of those 11 having received over 80M apiece.

I dont think We can't attract good enough players.

Swansea spent 7 million on 5 players this season.

Nevermind the money they have spent on players in the previous 2 years.

93.3 million in parachute payments in the 3 seasons before last will have helped.
