    WOW. Last time I paid 62p was around 1997. I remember the lorry drivers went on strike when it hit 70p FFS.

    It's all relative though, the Can dollar is worth a lot less than the pound. What is the average wage in the UK ?

    TBF Qatar refines it's own oil so it's literally coming out the ground here haha

    True, most of the cost is taken up by tax, if I fill up in the States it is quite a bit cheaper due to their lower rates.

    £1.49 here where I fill up.

    Seen it at £1.60 today near us though.

    When I first started driving it was 4s 11p per gallon and that's equivalent to about 6p per litre.

    First car I had then when retuning from National Service in 1956 was a 1934 Ford 8 with spoke wheels and spare on the back boot. It was immaculate, as new even at that age. I paid £40 for it from a lad who worked for my Dad.

    Oddly enough at 4s 11p for a gallon fags were the same price for a 20 pack then so they have doubled in price compared with petrol.
