I am reasonably optimistic that we'll at least make a game of it, I saw the 2-0 scoreline against Chelsea and was suitably impressed, then I watched the extended highlights and I saw nothing there to cause any undue worries, the game could have gone either way with the 2nd goal only arriving very late on. Their impressive rearguard might not be quite so impressive sans Branthwaite and they're without Gueye as well.

Two players have made the difference to them imo, they had nothing up front at back end of last season, but with the arrival of Harrison and the return from injiury of Calvert-Lewin, added to the potency of McNeil, they have a goal threat now alright, although they still seem to miss more than they score, hopefully that trait will still be apparent on Saturday, but I wouldn't be putting money on it.

I checked very thoroughly that neither Doucoure nor McNeil had disappeared to somewhere on loan. At set pieces they will murder us mon ami. I'll be in Bruges so it's now on record because I will miss the game.

Wasn't it at Goodison where we had Cullen marking Tarkowski at a corner, and last week at Molyneux we had Brownhill competing with Dawson, a battle he inevitably lost. We really can't afford many mismatches against this lot, you'd think Vinni would have it in hand, but I sometimes wonder just what they do work on down Gawthorpe.

Tarkowski will be rubbing his hands with glee and joyful anticipation.

I've got money on McNeil to be first and anytime scorer, it might be a good idea to have a couple of quid on Tarkowski as well. They wouldn't be the first old boys to come back and bite us on the bum by any means.
