All contracts can be changed with the agreement of the parties to the contract. That is basic premise of contract law.

If one party does not agree, then the contract stands.

The reality is that if the club wants to exercise the option but JB wants to leave, do we want to be paying the wages of another Weghorst - someone who does not want to play for the club? Would VK pick him in the knowledge that he might “go on strike” halfway through a match?

We want and need committed players first and foremost. We cannot carry passengers or deplete the squad with someone who wants away.

I think Tarks was professional and maybe JB would be too. However, a few million to spend and a lower wage may be attractive - especially if a good, young midfielder has been identified in Outer Mongolia or wherever jewels can be found.

It's still all based on the gutter press rumour mill, I'll take it seriously when Wolves put their bid in. If it ever happens.

Gary O'Neil has had the hots for Josh for a couple of seasons now mon ami, I guess it all depends on what the ultimate end offer is.

    Will AP/VK sanction any sale?

Or if there is an offer, still all paper talk imo, just another transfer rumour. I'm still surprised Sean didn't try to take him to Everton last January, he got the job with about two days of the window left to replace Anthony Gordon, Brownhill seemed an obvious choice to me, but it never happened.

The more rumours the better. Nowt like a good rumour to drive the prices up.

Basically the TeamTalk piece re-hashed, too many hacks with too much time on their hands desperate for a story. I reckon, come the end of January, Brownhill will still be our player. How's that for a rumour.

Daily Mirror journalist says Brownhill is going to Wolves in January, I say he isn't. Only one of us can be right, and it won't be the rumour-mongering hack.

He's going nowhere for £7 million mon ami. £20 million might tell a different story but I cannot find a decent "Johnny on the spot" transfer source anywhere in the footy or sporting media world right now.

I can happily conjure up rumour and inuendo on my own thank you very much.
