I am quite new to this site and was just wondering about its "moderators". How does one become a moderator? Who appoints and sanctions them? Also, do the moderators have any access to our emails, and thus our identities?

The site originally had 2 editors/moderators who moved on to other priorities in life. 20 years later they are still the only 2 who can grant moderator privileges to anyone. The 3 active moderators were all given the rights because initially we needed to be able to edit/update primarily our own posts. We muddle along to try and keep the board organised and keep the posters from verbally abusing each other or posting anything that could get the site closed down. We have absolutely no access to any personal information of site members.

BigRich does post the MM stuff with the external links when he has time. The URL of the site is still owned by Rich and he funds it.
