Of course there was money on the table, but it was borrowed money, not ALK's money, and loaned to us against future TV revenue and Parachute Payments. It remains a fact that we would have had to spend £60-£80 million just to stand still, and this was basically because of the way the ALK takeover was structured financially. ALK have not invested seriously in the club, £15 million I believe is what they paid for a club valued close to £200 million, the rest paid for with the club's own money, sqirrelled away by Garlick, or borrowed, on which we now pay interest.

We're approaching our 2nd relegation under these owners, the catering situation at Turf Moor is shambolic, away fans in our sections of the ground are causing ongoing concerns and we are heavily in debt, but just how much no one knows, except Mr Pace and ALK and they most certainly are not saying.

ALK may or may not be asset strippers mon ami, but you know what they say, if it looks like a duck, quacks like a duck.......etc.

Never-the-less £100 million was banged face down on the table and Kompany has not spent it wisely.

No matter the source of the Wonga mon ami it was put in place to build the team.

It seems to me that Dave Baldwin is no longer at the club because these very poor ticketing and catering issues would not be happening if he was.

I know you have not visited the Turf for a while but if you want to experience "ridiculousness" try walking down Harry Potts Way to the old Mecca roundabout.

Traffic cones all over the place, traffic trying to sneak through masses of walking fans, blocked walk ways, pavements up, people stampeding and horrible away fans creating havoc with criminal assaults. No police in place, clueless ground stewarding. Pace & Co, Lancashire Constabulary & Burnley Council need to get their $hit together and quick.

I don't know where Dave Baldwin is but I suggest Mr Pace finds out and brings him back.

But it most cleary was not put in place to build the team, players were bought who had the potential to increase in value, with no thought given at all to building a team capable of surviving at this level. That much mon ami is surely self-evident, it's why we are where we are.

Dave Baldwin is Managing Director at Huddersfield Town. When he finished at the Turf in 2019 he became CEO of the EFL and held that post until the end of 2020. HE went to his current post in October 2022 after holding another post at the club since May 2022.

I know you dislike ALK but the money Pace has put on the table hardly justifies your statement about a "financial straitjacket Mr Pace has put us in". Remember when we went totally mad and bought Dale Stephens for a million quid?

I do not have a clue about who is actually choosing the players but it sounds a lot like if Kompany wants, Kompany gets.

I remember him and Bellamy being in Belgium to watch Foster, next day we had spunked £10 million and a player suffering with mental health issues was in Gawthorpe.

I also recall both you and me being horrified at the Dyche/Garlick recruitment policy. Those two make this lot like absolute amateurs.

Perhaps Mike Rigg was not that bad after all?

The Yanks love AI BT.As you can see their worldwide player scouting platform needs a little tweeking like putting in drawer 13.I think I will offer my services again as a scout here in central Europe. My first advice would be to get Styles from Barnsley.

AI is all well and good, however, I am not sure whether or not we still have any active scouts doing the rounds in the UK --or anywhere els for that matter, so don't get your hopes up CiB.

I did read somewhere Sub that we'd fired off the lot of them.

Exactly what I had heard as well sinkov. I have also heard a few other things which I did not like, however, I am not going to say any more about that because I have no proof and do not do conjecture.

All I know is we picked up Benson, Zaroury & Koleosho for shirt buttons, so some of it works.

How much of a scouting network does a PL club need in this day and age of blanket TV coverage and the Internet ? It's not exactly like the old days, when some old geezer in a flat cap was sat at the back of a draughty stand watching a D3 North game is it. Any player out there who may be of interest to us, you can guarantee by the time one of our scouts sees him, a bigger club than ours will be on his case.
