He's gone OP, they might wrangle over compensation for months or go to a tribunal but it's over for him here. You can't rock the boat like this and just go back to normal.
A great chapter for us, let's hope we recruit well. The club structure is solid and well financed so there's no reason to believe we can't carry on building.

Right so if LW had it easy and couldnt fail then if our next coach relegates us its not his fault right ?? I mean afterall he doesnt buy the players.

Swansea operate in a similar way to us in that they bring certain style of player in and football generally works that way now at most clubs.

There will be no tribunal. In order for them to have him, they must pay the relevant compensation for Notts to terminate his contract. If they do not, Swansea will be in serious hot water. This isn't the same as Martin who had a specific clause and the argument was about what tier Southampton was in order to pay said compensation. He could well go there and they immediately have a transfer embargo slapped on them say

Swansea have had Brendan Rogers, Martinez, Brian Laudrup, Russel Martin and Steve Cooper off the top of my head. They recruit well and I'm sure will have recruitment analysis and scouting networks at least as good as ours, they're a well funded club.
He has every chance of succeeding there. It wasn't on a plate here, it won't be there otherwise anyone can do the job and they'd all succeed.

Then they'll pay up as they would know the contract details pretty early in the deal. I'd be amazed if Williams is in the dugout for Grimsby.

Has he, where has it been announced? Notts will be angry it's been released before them.

I'll wait until it's on either Notts or Swanseas websites before worrying. As you say we're in a good place on and off the field but it will knock us for six and possibly out the play off race this season.

    Wrexham fan in peace.
Can't believe some fans are having sly digs at LW after what he's done for you. Regardless of players, who signed them etc, a manager has to put it all together which is never easy, I don't care who you sign. He got you out of the NL in what was the most difficult league/season that league will probably ever see. We spent silly money, so did Chesterfield and there were several other very strong sides as we both saw.

When an established championship / ex prem club comes calling and you live there anyway you can't turn that down.

My only worry would be the replacement manager (no one obvious available) and keeping your best players. Losing your manager is one thing, but a Langstaff leaving too would be pretty grim.

I agree, it's bound to unsettle everyone at the club, for that reason alone I think it's best he goes swiftly and we concentrate on the next chapter. I think the worst thing for Notts is a drawn out saga and going into a state of mourning.
Williams wants to go, he's pulled the trigger on this so I hope we can move on and forwards with vigour.

And there's a voice of reason - albeit from an unlikely source.

Does he want to go? I've seen no evidence to suggest he does, quite the opposite.
