It's time to move on now, yes at times it was beautiful but when you love something, sometimes you have to set it free. I'm more interested in who the next manager will be and who are we going to get to the club in January especially defence and midfield. That Norwich lad is still meant to be on his way. One thing is guaranteed, with a stable and well run club like ours, they'll be some good candidates wanting to be our manager. Thanks Luke but bye, time to move on.
Something which should bother us is that the new coach will the 20th man in charge dating back to Munto
20 managers in 15 years, IB and LWs departures contribute to that, seems like you've got to be mediocre to have a long tenure (NA needs a long service award for his 2+ years), be above or below par and you're on your way
With each player at his peak, where would this team of fairly recent managers sit in the pyramid?
...........Crossley
Nicol Curle Short Moniz
....Sheridan Ince Nolan
McParland Kewell Kiwomya
I'm not one of those who resents IB, but the circumstances of his departure felt different, and frankly his football wasn't as entertaining as the Luke Williams brand. As a fan, I feel much more warmth towards Luke.
With Williams I can understand the financial and family incentives for his move, and the attractiveness of Swansea as a comparatively big club.
In contrast, I thought IB's move to Forest Green was a strange one, not least for his career, because they're a smaller club than Notts and it was always highly likely that League One would be their absolute ceiling even if they could stay there, which they didn't. If he'd have left for a club like, say, Sheffield Wednesday, it would have been understandable, but not an artificially-inflated village team in Gloucestershire!
My dream would be that our analyst Joao Alves is another Jose Mourinho, who also started in video analysis.
The acknowledged best coach in the NBA, Eric Spoelstra also started in the video room. Nobody will understand the system more than Alves...
Nonsense and a complete fantasy I know, but it's a gut punch when you lose the best manager we've had in many a year.
