Swansea chased him, so it's not hard to see why he left. It was already an attractive job, so when they chatted to him for 3 hours to convince him to leave us i'm not surprised his head was turned.

We have the highest goals against in the league, and are on course to concede over 80 goals. Our defence has been shocking all season, but nothing seems to have been done to sort it.
We have lost 5 of the last 6 away from home, and if it was not for our home form we would be very close to the bottom...Performances away from home have been awful , apart from the Stockport game. And like he said " Things in football move fast". I think he was the right fit for us last season, and did an amazing job in getting us back into the EFL, but you cant live in the past... It was time for him to move on..

Stallard basically made the same point Durham did, pointing out that we'd lost 7 of the last 11 and that LW would have factored in the potential for his stock going down in the coming weeks (with the difficult fixtures) and an opportunity such as this not presenting itself to him again.
Durham and Eastcoast may be proved right if we shift into a higher gear with a new boss whilst LW fails at Swansea, it's not an impossible scenario by any means, though I'm personally anticipating that this isn't going to work out well for us at all.
This is football though and it takes a brave man to firmly commit to any sort of prediction.
I think we'll be fine, because the structure and identity of our club is far better now than it has been in the past. I think the owners will pick a manager to continue the style the Ardley, Burchnall and Williams all played their part in developing, and that our player recruitment is based upon.
Essentially what we need is a Head Coach who can maintain the principle of playing attractive passing football, but with a bit more defensive steel, which will boil down to a mixture of coaching style and the type of player we bring in during this and the next transfer window. To date we've focused heavily on signing creative players and goal scorers, which gives us the ability to win plenty of games, especially at home. Now we need to balance that out with a few defender/destroyer types who can take charge on those occasions when we're not in complete control of games.

Making negative comments at a lower league side is likely to be right most of the time.
Having a bad spell is the test of any manager ALL managers go through them but how you respond is what counts.
Stallard might be right but LW would have been confident he could turn it around but its also worth factoring in he has had bad luck with THREE season ending injuries to key players that isnt the norm.
I personally think we wont make the play offs now but badly hope im wrong.
