Thanks, Micky. Start with D, single finger G and A7 and find a simple song that you can sing with these three chords until you can change quickly between them.

Very good advice. I struggled with the G chord but my guitarist brother got me to do the single finger G. I have a Bob Dylan song book and can play through quite a few of his pieces using just the D, G and A7. Love playing his Mr Tambourine Man which has Em also but is an easy change from/to A7.
