On the whole I think it’s is better for the club long term. Sticking with the current owner is not going to be good for the club. It is a case of twist or bust, so I’d go twist on this occasion.

As Dave said - in footballing terms this guy appears not to have a pot to piss in. Can’t see much needed investment but more asset stripping and cheap deals.

Who knows whether it will be a better option. Would Lai care? Would he hell!

Can’t really be worse but we wont see any investment, at least it would prevent the end of season administration. Oh for an owner who actually has a genuine affinity with the club and its people.

There’s advantages to having a non filthy mega rich owner. You can get far better engagement from them as it’s a large part of their portfolio

Interestingly, it was reported that Patel has links with MSD Holdings, who, as mentioned above, have loaned Albion significant funds, which makes them the biggest creditor of the club.

Interesting and perhaps an indication that MSD see no way that they will see repayment via Lia, my cynical head sees Patel as a holding player ensuring no more borrowing, which of course would necessitate lowering our costs significantly…

From what I've read he isn't linked to MSD so much as he's the preferred bidder from the interested parties.

Apparently they see him as the best bet for getting their money repaid before we run out of cash and slide into administration under Lai and Co.

Could be wrong but that's my understanding of the situation. Whilst not MEGA wealthy I wouldn't mind being a few quid shy of him and his family business.
